Is this a new insult or something? "Wow you really mastered that champ. Press r more. So impressive." When did talking shit because someone successfully used their ult become a thing?

My personal big issue are champions that get free Immunity to everything off of one move that ends up being spammable within their regular buildpath. Fiora's ult, Yi's Q (Along with his Reset capabilities and innate base sustain mid-fight), Fizz's Playful/Trickster, and then the person tries to act like they're skilled, or they actually had to try to do that. No, no you really didn't. You dodged AOE and CC with one move, then exploded the backline with your innate hyper-mobility, Try and do that with a champion who isn't as blessed by the Rito Gods, like Yorick.
That said, goddamn was URF fun, it's always nice to remind people WHY exactly Yorick has to be managated so hard xD

Depends on the champ. Trynd karthus and fiora are pretty good examples. I mean trynd you literally press r and you cant die. Not a whole lot of skill their. Similar to fiora.
I remember some people telling me that

I think people use it when the person who got the kills thinks they are totally the best in the world and say so in all chat (or something similar)
Interestingly enough as people intend this to be an insult there are actually quite a few champions that you need to know good timing of pressing R that shows champion mastery
A perfect example is tryn. Im horrifically bad at timing his R meanwhile people who actually mastered this champion always seem to get their ults off right before I land a finishing blow.
Karthus is another one. A good karthus presses R after a fight and gets a kill, or atleast damages all enemies on the field. A great karthus knows his timing and can penta kill during a team fight using his R
It just depends on the champion. If a Cait starts gloating after securing a kill with her ult (no blockers) it makes sense. If a Yasuo starts gloating after Malphite sets him up, it makes sense.

Because people like to wave-dick for such silly things, our generation is seriously really fond of winning and having opinions of equality (even though these aren't un-biassed nor reasonable). That's why you see people raging to Yasuos R, undervalue any form of cheese.
Im not one to complain about thing like this but since this is the topic i feel like 
is this way because ive seen syndras that miss everything literally EVERYTHING but im still in r range and get hamblated by dark ball things 
Malzahar and Warwick main here...back in S4 when I was climbing Silver I used to hear "press R WW..so skill" in atleast 50 percent of the games from the enemy.
You have a point, because usually even easy ults have some form of counterplay like itemization etc.

I dont always use my ultimate but when I use it, I make sure to steal your kill.
lol its like when you play yi, people complain that you chose a champ that can gap close the backline and then Auto Attack to death.
Ever since Katarina and Akali were things, really. Teams with no CC (AKA: all Bronze/Silver teams) are the main ones that bitch about "Press R more noob", ESPECIALLY full-squishy teams.
Because of the low elo's unholy obsession with trying to be the next Insec with #LC$B!GPL@Y$, very few teams in the low elo will be smart enough to buy GAs, MR, or make a comp with CC (Malz mid, Malph top, Sej jung, Leona supp, Varus ADC is a good team for chaining CC and teamfighting).
This is why I end up playing Morg support every game so we actually have a mage and CC. Sigh This hell that Riot traps us in ;_; (Btw, before you make any dumb remarks about "You're where you belong, retard", I get matched with high Silvers and low Golds CONSISTENTLY almost every game. That means my MMR is high enough to be playing with them. I win a decent amount of my games too, I'm going to put it around between 55-65%.)
It's the very concept of champions really, it isn't like all champions have unpowerful or spammable ult so that "insult" is just a little bit too comical.
Not to mention getting rekt by Fiora is the very example of how someone should stay in the lower elo bracket.
Because people can be real jerks :c I main Draven so I've had practice with across the maps ults and what not, now that shit can be hard cause you gotta predict where the champ you wanna hit might move etc, i still get shit when i kill them across the map o . o and they be like "Fuck you! Just ult me like that! Pressing R isn't hard!" y'know all that bs, but uh....you gotta line that up too...Aha anyways, people just get mad because they died. I saw below you played Fiora. The thing is, with her ult it's not a matter of just pressing a button, it's about timing and if it's smart to use it and so on. It's like with Katarina, people be like "She's a piss easy champ." No. She may be a little easier to grasp in terms of her kit, but they're hard to master and really play well. In any case, just ignore them, they have no idea what they're talking about <3
I've heard this insult too. To me though, an ult is meant to be a game changing ability, something that switches the fight into your favor and shouldn't be used whenever you happen to have it. So I tend to save my ults for the best time to use them, often enough getting kills with them. So I have also been insulted for "pressing r"
