Behold the glory that is the drain tank ADC
Yes, you read that right: Drain Tank ADC. There is a special build that can work on certain marksmen that honestly make them better drain tanks then
or
. However, there are only a few marksmen who can achieve this. Yes, you can debate that any marksman can build this build, but normally long(er) range marksmen that tend to build a good mix of raw damage and attack speed are the best candidates.
In this case, I used Varus: http://i.imgur.com/iH7MFcH.png?2
The entire build focuses around the use of
. I'm not sure many people know of this, but those two little bolts proc on hit effects, thus, they are affected by lifesteal. Now, in my build, which wasn't finished (I was going to buy
next), I had 38% Lifesteal. If I were to finish Essence reaver, I would have hit 40%. With
, this would be bumped up to 50%. With that build, if I recall, I had somewhere around 400 damage. So, with every regular auto attack, I was healing myself for about 152 health (this is not including armor reduction), which is quite decent just in itself.
But this is where Runaan's comes in. In a teamfight, you would be hitting multiple people at once REALLY fast (Runaan's is a hilarious amount of attack speed for those newer players), and each little bolt is dealing its own amount of damage, about 200 damage each (again, not counting armor), so, about 800 damage total with every auto attack (it is spread out, and not on a single target). 38% Lifesteal equates to 304 health gained back with every auto attack.
However, we have yet to put in Crit strike damage.
gives 25% crit chance, so, with every 4 auto attacks, 1 of them should be a crit strike. We should all know that when a crit strike is applied, it doubles your damage automatically. Thus, about every 4th regular auto attack, I was dealing 800 damage. Now, unfortunately (but probably a good thing), Runaan's bolts do not proc crit strikes. So, with every critical auto attack, I pumped out a staggering 1200 damage. With 38% Lifesteal, thats 456 health back on every auto attack.
Allow me to put that into perspective: At level 18, Varus has 2018 health (a decent amount for an ADC), add on the 350 shield from
, and you get a total of 2368 health. With my build, you would be able to go from no health at all, to a full Bloodthirster shield with just 8 auto attacks. Sine 2 of those should be crit strikes, it is safe to assume that you could from 0 to 100 in about 6 or 7 auto attacks.
If I were to complete my build, and have the elixir, I would be healing myself for about 400 health on each auto attack (600 if they are crit strikes). This brings that number down to around 6 auto attacks (4 if they are crit strikes), and since one of them has ought to be a crit strike, we could assume that we could go from 0 to 100 in about 5 auto attacks.
Just with this build, I had around 1.5 attack speed, so about 2 auto attacks every 3 seconds (this is not including Varus' passive). Thus, in about 7 seconds, I could have a full Bloodthirster shield from practically 0 health. The only champion that I can see who would have better drain tanking capability is a well played AP
, but unlike that build, my build actually works in real situations. I was able to sit in the middle of their team, soak up all of the damage thrown at me, and come out of a teamfight relatively healthy.
So, have any of you out there tried this out yet? Remember, it really only works on certain champs.
and
are, in my opinion, the two best marksmen for this build.
could possibly pull it off, and possibly
as well.
