Why the fuck would you deny someone just because they pick off meta or a weak pick?
Had a captain deny a Lucian after waiting a solid 11 minutes because "Lucian is trash now." AND?! YOUR POINT?! We are sick of waiting. Beggars can't be choosers. Had a captain deny an Ori support because she isn't a support after waiting forever... please sir, I just want to play.
i won't play team builder just to play a specific champ, because the wait times are stupid long. but, i will play blind pick because call order
exactly this. I accepted a teemo jungle and spent the next 10 minutes searching for a support + adc that wouldn't insta leave our group.

I just hate teambuilders matchmaking. It assumes that the diamond playing another champ besides their main isn't going to stomp all over a bronze or silver.
That's just some idiot captains, most captains who have played team builder for a while will accept any jungler, support, or adc as long as it isn't complete troll like soraka jungle or elise adc.
It's because current "Team Builder" is a failed idea. We saw the same thing in World of Warcraft. The queue times are so out of sync because not every roll is as "fun" across the board as the rest. Top/Mid have tons of people playing them. Support/Jungle require someone who is okay not being the "l337" hypercarry. And ADC is totally random. Some days a lot of them, other days it takes forever to find one.
I know this isn't popular, but they need to just delete "Team Builder" as an idea. It doesn't prevent trolls, you are still going to get Varius "support" because someone just wants to play him. People need to just accept than draft/blind pick at least forces people to play other roles.
You have a valid point, but, some people don't want to risk losing because of meta breakers. Not all instances of meta-breaking fail, but some do. Such as full AP Zed or full AD Vladimir.
Ori is a support.... It says it on her card.

Lucian isn't so bad right now, I have been shredded by a few lately. Anyway, not the point. XD
I love teambuilder, if you're having a hard time finding a role to play you can always build your own as well. I used to feel that teambuilder groups were generally for trying new things or a good way to practice a specific champion/role. I do know the feels though when you allow something weird like teemo jungle, and people leave. The wait is still not near as bad as it was a few months ago. I'm rambling sorry.

I can actually understand it to a point.
My friend and i have a list of champs for roles that we will flat out kick or not choose.
We do that because every time one of those champs comes up and we pick them, the player is just so horrible and we end up losing every time.
not a support????? What the hell?? She's great at support, shes got damage, cc, a shield that also gives MR/armor and her ball acts as a ward as well.
I will agree, team builder has stupid long wait times in terms of supports but i dont mind it seeing as I get to jungle every game with no one fighting me for it:)
And you wonder what the shortage of ADC's and Supports is caused by? Take a wild guess. I LOVE Anivia support but only do it on the PBE because I'd never actually get to be in a real team builder game with that, and draft pick/blind pick?! Please.
A couple of months ago it took me just over an hour to get into a Team Builder game as mid Ez. People are so meta-enforcing it's ridiculous.
Funny how TB was originally designed to facilitate meta-breaking in an environment where everyone would be fine with it, but instead it enforces the meta harder than any of the other game modes because people can kick anything that is the slightest bit off-meta.
Then why don't you switch lobbies? I don't really play teambuilder, but if for whatever reason I'm forced to, I'll wait 15 minutes for legit strong champions.
This is probably because the enemy team you will face will most likely have op champs and if your team has weak picks/ off meta there's a high chance you will lose ( people hate losing ) because the match wont be even as your weaker. Don't get me wrong sometimes off meta/weaker champion picks can work and you can win but lets be honest this would happen if the enemy team who picked the op champs are either bad/ not playing seriously or trolling :P I mean sure you can say that you don't care about win or lose you just wanna have fun but I dont think its fun when you play a game and get stomped first 20 minutes ( which is most likely to happen given your weaker/ off meta picks vs the op champs ). On a side note tho how do you have the patience to wait 11 minutes in team builder XD
Damn, if only thing you care about is winning go play ranked. Anywhere else, don't complain unless they're going AP Zed.
I waited for 25 minutes just to get into a queue as AP Varus... :(
Blind pick is actually more tolerant of unmeta-picks. No one questions what you're doing there.
