LeaverBuster: I am not happy with it.

Before I start, let me say that I have never been punished by leaver buster. However, I recently read that leaving a game, even if you were unexpectedly disconnected and immediately reconnect, counts toward getting a leaver buster punishment. I have a real problem with this. Everyone that plays League knows that there are times when you disconnect from a game and the fault is completely on Riot's end. Lately, I have been having an issue with my games that causes me to 'disconnect' from the match. In actuality I am not disconnecting. I lose the ability to control my character and the game says 'attempting to reconnect' but I am seeing the game still playing in the background. I can look around the map and see the jungler clearing camps, laners trading harass and everything else playing as it should. If I was actually disconnected I would see everything standing still/walking in place. I am not disconnected. Instead I have simply lost the ability to interact with the game. The only way to fix this is to leave the match and rejoin. I was worried that this might be getting me close to a leaver buster punishment as I am having to do this at least once every 3 games so I contacted Riot and got this response:

"The best advice I can give you to avoid getting suspended by our LeaverBuster system is to address any issues you are having with your computer or internet connection if they are causing disconnections from the game, and only playing when you are relatively sure you can complete the match you have entered."

This issue is completely out of my control/has nothing to do with my computer or internet and I am not the only one having this issue. My friends are seeing this happen and people I play with are also getting hit by this. 'only playing when you are relatively sure you can complete the match you have entered'. I can't be sure because this happens at completely random times. It is why I have stopped playing ranked so much this patch. I don't want to have this happen and cost my team a win and have had this happen to someone else and it cost me a win. So, by following Riot's advice, my best bet is to just... not play because I cannot be sure I won't have this 'disconnect' issue.

I never just flat out leave a game. I never have but this issue is happening frequently enough to where I am worried I will get punished for something that is 100% outside of my control.

Disconnecting due to a problem with Riot servers is indeed one thing, and should have 100% LP loss protection...but an individual being disconnected out of his control vs. doing it on purpose is another. It is literally impossible to tell if someone does it on purpose or not. Lying about lag and creating it and a DC yourself is a piece of cake.

When Riot's actual servers are acting up, they push The Button to enable Loss Prevention. This also disables Leaverbuster. So, with the possible exception of games played after the issue begins but before Riot is aware of it, disconnections which are due to problems that are under Riot's immediate control (their servers/network/connection/whatever), do not mark towards Leaverbuster bans.

Issues with the client, various ISPs, and the general infrastructure of the web, however, are not under Riot's immediate control, and as such, they can contribute to Leaverbuster bans.

I'm not sure where you got your information but just DCing and reconnecting doesn't count as leaverbuster or whatever. You can tell who has been nailed by it because their names are red in post game.

Also, stop saying "Riot server issues". It isn't Riot server issues, it's datacenter and backbone (infrastructure) issues. If a particular area gets knocked out (say by a storm or an attack) it will affect your ability to connect or stay connected. It isn't your ISP (technically) and it isn't Riots servers. People misuse the term server issues and it drives me nuts. Even when Riot turns on loss prevented it's usually due to data center issues, not game servers.
