Oh no, the boards are already Tumblr bad. The circlejerking and flaming of dissenting opinions is enough evidence of that. Right now, I'm just waiting to see if the boards are going to stay as close-minded and hostile as Tumblr, or go full on shitposting mode like Facebook. Either way, the point is the same. I feel you, but these things are usually very bursty, it'll die down after a bit. In the meantime you can use the Hot sorting for the specific Boards you are interested in.

I still say that at the start of every game. I make it a point that I remember to type "GL HF all! :D" at the start of each match (although I do forget every once in a while). I haven't gotten any honor or anything form it, but it helps to make the game feel more fun and inviting

LOL when I see people do this I think that they are either 1. Noobs are 2. Female.

In either situation I will (if playing non-support) try to target/farm them for easy kills :)

I can assure you that I am not female (but I am not what you would call the best at this game), and that saying "good luck and have fun!' at the start of a GAME(whose main reason, surprisingly, is to have fun!) does not mean that I do not take it seriously. I am merely trying to create an enjoyable atmosphere for all those present

No its more about trying to win and realizing certain behavior patterns are likely to facilitate certain outcomes. People aren't supposed to be "touchy feely" in war... and although I commend you for your attitude: If you are going to be nice to me at start I will take advantage of your nicety. Read Sun Tzu's "Art of War" for details.

BTW me certainly not only one who does this so be advised.

This is not war. In fact this is probably one of the furthest things you could get from war. Let's take chess for example. It is a highly competitive game, but at the start and finish of each match, the two players (I'm referring to high level play) shake hands and wish each other good luck, or congratulate them on their win. Or (American) Football. This is something that is a bit closer to a war like scenario, but even then, when the captains come forward for the coin toss, they shake hands honorably, and promise the refs a clean game, and after the game is done, they tell each other "good game" Hell, even MMA fighters (closest thing you could get to a RL combat scenario)at the start of each match touch gloves to acknowledge to fight honorably and fair, enjoying the chance to participate in something they enjoy. And when the fight is over, the loser congratulates the winner on his fight hard won

Yes however it is true that MEME's (internet version) are generally defined as "viral (micro)videos" or picture with captions designed to invoke a significant emotional response from large about of people. Else it wouldn't be a MEME... just be something boring. Alas way to go with Wikipedia link.

No, a "meme" is a memetic unit. Had you read the wikipedia link's first paragraph you'd have got that. An "internet meme" is just a little thing that spreads through the internet culture. There is no rule whatsoever on what it's composed of and... fun fact, they're basically all boring and invoke no emotional response from... anyone?
