NOT by Riot, so please stop with the bullshit that me going off meta is "Trolling", and your going to report me. (Which btw does absolutely nothing and will just make your reports worthless against actual Toxic or trolling players).

Literal Definition of Trolling: _Make a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them. _

DELIBERATELY with the aim and intention of upsetting someone. Which is not what off meta players do.

Many people don't think of it as a thing.. I had a SUPPORT JINX say "Kennen can't ADC" before they left.. and I did surprisingly well in the game that followed against a tristana..

Riot still enforces the meta though, when champs and items are used in a way that most people deem 'non meta' its generally nerfed into oblivion.

See though, Alistar jungle was broken. He would just tower dive you early on in the game, knocking you out of your turret for an easy kill. It was also a lot easier back then to clear the jungle

Whenever I see these threads I wonder if by "off-meta" the person means something unorthodox but somewhat viable, like ADC TF or Jarvan IV MADC bot lane... Or if they're trying to play AP Ashe or AP Vayne and wonder why their team think they're a scumbag.

There's off-meta that makes some sense, and there's off-meta that's just purely stupid.

He's refering to the stuff like ADC TF. Off-meta is seen as a pick that's not in the meta, but still has a use. Now if he played AP Draven, we'd have a problem.

Think of it like this. Out of meta is an odd way, but not useless way, to play a champ. A troll is building AP on a champ with no AP ratio's, or doing something that doesn't help the team at all. At least ADC TF brings a lot of his damage, but an AP Vayne is relient on her bolts 100% since AP doesn't give her any damage. If she built something like item 3115 I still wouldn't count it, because it's still a lot less for little reason. :P

You'd think its obvious but you never know what people are going to do. I've seen someone act all upset about being flamed for "just going off meta" then when they finally explained what they were doing it turns out they were building AP Riven and full tank Ashe.

not a very good comparison because the only reason people take a marksman and tank bot is because other people take marksman and tank bot- it doesn't really need to work that way. You can feasibly take a mage and a tank bot and beat the marksman. This is off-meta but still a viable thing to do.

People discover things when they go off meta! plus, warwick is "Out of the meta", yet i just had a game where i went 17/9/9 and had to carry my team after our adc fed the other teams adc intentionally. And why? Because he is my most played champion. Not because he is easy to play, i mean ashe is easy to play but after she died 2 she started feeding intenitionallly. its not my fault, it the people who say off-meta doesnt works fault

No it's selfish to have a terrible build that makes you useless, which make it so you lose the game and screwed over 4 other people who logged on to actually play not get destroyed due to 1 person being dumb.

Galio is so bad, any champion with a gap closer can get out of his ult before it blows up ( even without mercury threads at the moment). This isn't S1 my friend, in season 5 galio is terrible.

You have like 0.25 seconds or something along those line to dash out of it before it blows up, I think they implemented that to introduce some ''counterplay'' as riot likes to call it to his ult. There's a slight delay between the end of the channel & the damage.

Also if you have mercury threads you have even more time to get out.

Plus he does nothing that rumble or cho'gath can't do, if anything he does it worst. Except his ult his kit is pretty much useless. He's good in ARAM and that's about it.

I think Meta is made by Riot in a sense, for example where devourer was super strong or when cinderhulk was great. However that doesn't mean other champions have a disadvantage.

Well. The meta is somewhat based on what the best players play. They seem to know who is strong in a certain patch that gives them an advantage over other Champs such as item changes that work stupidly well with certain Champs kits. They stream games and people pick up on it and add it to their champ pool. If certain Champs are strong in a patch people of course will play it.
