I give up on ever getting to gold.

Doesn't matter how well I do, doesn't matter how much time I put into the game (over 4,000 games in silver at this point), doesn't matter how many champs I learn, doesn't matter how much I learn... I realize I will just never go anywhere in this game. Whether that's because I'm bad or because you're a greedy, shitty company, I just know I'll never be getting gold, plat, or any other rank than silver, and I should just stop hoping for it, or anything else.

Doesn't matter that I can go 15/2 in lane against a challenger Riot employee, doesn't matter that I can go 18/2 as Gnar ADC, doesn't matter that I can massively win my lane and every other lane while controlling objectives, doesn't matter how well I do anything... because, in the end, it's not what I do that matters; it's how much I abuse what Riot is too greedy to fix, and how lucky I get with the four other morons I'm forced to rely on.

So, you win, Riot. I'm done trying. Obviously nothing is going to change, so why even bother.

Let it be known, that today, the 16th of August, League of Legends player Sciela believes that he is stuck in Silver....because he thinks Riot is greedy.

"Balance" is not something that exists in League. In a truly balanced game, every champion would have a defined set of strengths and weaknesses, and any champion could potentially win. As the "pros" have shown though, only about 1/3 of the roster is even worth picking, and half of that number is a must-have or must-ban.

The easiest champions are the strongest -- ADCs are the highest damage that exists, despite being the most reliable, easiest champs in the game.

Then, I go and play champs that are actually fun, and do more than just click on people -- and I don't stand a chance. Sure, I could play Yi, LB, Annie or some other bullshit and win, easily too, but I don't enjoy them, or any other braindead clicker. So, I lose because I pick champs that the whales don't approve of, and aren't allowed to be strong.

And, just the fact that League is F2P shows how greedy Riot is, so please don't act like they aren't.

ummmm no it does exsist, maybe it is a pain playing with some of the shits in ranked but it is most certainly possible. take it from me a player who when i first started ranked was in the beautiful bronze 5. played my hardest tryed to get better and hey now im mid plat. its possible just cause you lose some games or dont climb as fast as you want doesnt mean its not possible its just hard.

also i take offense to this as an adc main. its far from the hardest or the most skill intensvie but it sure as hell isnt a walk in the park. also the game needs to have champs at different levels of effectiveness. if every champ was as hard as lee sin no new players would ever continue playing becuase it would be so hard to get over the learning curve. thats why people like garen and annie exsist and those champs are even still viable at super high elo, ie anniebot the master tier annie main. and sure in the lcs many of the champs have a higher play rate and some dont get played at all but that doenst mean all the other champs are garbage. riven isnt picked much this seaons but boxbox is still a riv main and is still in challenger. or how about himerdinger, not played in lcs but there are dimond 1 himer mains i.e Alpha Heimer NA. and on a last note lb may be able to 1 shot you but she certainly has a very high skill gap. as shown by faker being known as one of the best lb players in the world and why hes feared when he gets it but other teams just dont pick it.

So, remind me how a champion who has absurd mobility, ridiculous damage (half of it targeted), a free get out of jail free card, hard and soft CC, and all that is, in any way, hard? Very first game of LB I ever played, I went 19/0. So, remind me, what skill cap does she even have?

And, sure, we can have easy champs for lazy assholes or new players to play, but there is ZERO reason for the easiest champs to be, by far, the strongest. None at all. Why bother playing Syndra when you can do the same thing with Annie and spend a fraction of the effort doing so? -- not only that, but you do thrice the damage.

You know, it's still just cracks me up when you think a game that the only buyable content is cosmetic (with no game impact) shows that Riot is greedy.

Are you buying skins right now? I'm going to guess no. So then if someone else isn't enjoying the game, then they won't buy skins, and so on and so forth. The only reason people will put money into a game where it's only cosmetic is because they enjoy it and want to support the creators.

This type of free to play model is vastly different from real time MMOs on mobile like Clash of Clans, as spending money in that game will actually get you ahead of someone who doesn't spend money.

So, here's the thing about F2P: In an F2P game, you do not give two fucks about the base game -- it doesn't make money. 99.99% of developer attention will be put into the cash shop, and just enough effort will be put into the base game to make people feel like you give a damn (any work on the base game is a net loss, since you make nothing off of it), and nothing more.

In a game like League, this means you do not give a fuck about balance so long as people pay. You will create FOTM waves to spike skin / champ sales, you will spend all your efforts on skins / new champs instead of the base game, and basically the game's quality is just abysmal.

This is also why it takes them 8 years to update champs and create a new client using modern technology. In reality, with a game with as small a scope as League, these things should take less than two weeks.

lol, OP. you just have to realize that you are not good at the game! and then you have to realize the next important thing: THAT'S OK! Everyone on this planet is born with a skillset, each of which is vastly different. your skill obviously isnt here in this game! thats noones fault, especially not riots!

It is time to leave your frustration behind and stop focusing on your rank. If you have fun, just play the game for being a game. If you dont have fun doing that, ditch the game.

your best shot at happiness is to find something that you are extremely good at and enjoy doing that. that's especially true when you look for a career! take the path of least resistance, the path your gifts align with.
