Why is gifting limited to 3 per day?

it's being upgraded to 20 for snowdown.... because of the icons count as gifts.... so :D

One reason may be to curb damage done when your account gets stolen. And it's 5 for gifts of RP, 10 for gifts in general, and 20 for the snowball icons.
