On option to play OFFLINE

Correct me if I am mistaken.... I believe that it is becoming more and more of a trend for online only games to offer an offline mode in case people want to play without the hassle of 900 ping, 1500 ping, 3000 ping, or whatever number it decides to be today.

So, Riot, why can't we have this option? I would love to get to utilize an offline mode to practice a champion. How about a doombots type mode that is offline? Or at least some competent bots. Other games have accomplished it, I'm sure you can, too.

Maybe an offline mode that can unlock special features as you further advance?

  • I earned this tiny gold ribbon for completing the "100 doom bot challenge" (online + offline options available)
  • I unlocked this icon for completing the "200 doom bot challenge" (online + offline options available)

Just some thoughts; I would like to see an OFFLINE mode....

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but can you list a game that started out as an online only game, but then added offline play? I can only think of franchises that had offline play, ditched it in a newer version of the game, then patched offline play back in because of complaints.

I just recently moved to an area that is rural and the only internet I can get is dish, which as some people will know that it is not unlimited data and most games online eat up data. So basically I don't get to play league of Legends to often unless I go to a friends to play. I will state I'm not complaining or by any means suggesting this is Riot games problem. What I would like to say is that I think there would be a lot of support for offline play of League of Legends. I think there would be a lot of possible positive outcomes to such a motion. I think It would bring a lot more players to the game those who don't have good enough internet to play to begin with. I have suggested playing LoL to plenty of people and often the only thing stopping them is their internet, granted those with the lack of internet or slow internet would still have to go some where to download the game to play offline if it were an option. Another thing is I think we have all experienced that random bad and or slow internet day, and cant get a good enough connection to play or wont risk playing in case of getting kicked from a game or count as going AFK. Not suggestion the punishment for either of those is wrongly so just saying sometimes I personally wont play when its a risk, and I'm sure others don't also. So offline play would help those of us who are itching to play on a day when the Internets going haywire. I also understand there might be some cons with LoL having an offline play option. One of the problems with this might be with the increased number of players, there are already a lot of people playing and sometimes when something gets even more popular than it was it can sort of claps under its own success. Another thing is you may get a lot of people trying online play who really have not played before and are use to playing the computer offline and may not like the experience with other real life players. Also as anyone will tell you playing the computer and other players is always a whole other story and players who have been playing the game a while may complain often being stuck with people who are not use to playing real life opponents. Even with all of the Pros and cons of such a move I think generally over all LoL having an offline option would be a great addition to an already amazing game. I would love to see it happen.
