Lets see... 5.8 patch notes came out April 28th, so we can expect 5.9 patch notes to come out May 12th. New champions hit the PBE very shortly after the PBE updates to the next patch, but their teasers are a few days before that...

I think we'll learn more this weekend, maybe by Friday.

Would love to see another assassin. Haven't had one since Zed which was more then 2 years ago. It's about time we get another.

Sorry should have been more specific. We haven't had a champion released that has their primary role as an assassin. But if we do count Yasuo then it has been about one and a half year since we got an assassin. Sorry for the confussion.

I'm still waiting for a mainstream Assassin, with stealth and backstabs (like Twitch and Shaco combined), and a mainstream Mage with white robes a staff and all the kind of magical stuff :D

I would be very happy to agree with you on that. Assassin's are so much fun to play. For the most part they are weak pre 6 which makes the laning phase more fun because you have to find out how much you can give and take with the other mid laner but once you hit 6 you can start racking up kills to the point where you become the nightmare of anyone squishy.

Because it has to do with a time, it might be a mage/support. We just got a support so its probably a mage mid laner. Would be cool if it was a new mage jungler though

True, but we may see a top laner considering that Gnar was the "oldest new champion" and that Braum was right before him. If it follows the rotation from the last 5 champs, Ekko would be a top lane mage.

I think I remember someone from riot talking about a time traveling champ before(a few years ago I think),I think he had to do with time traveling and was going to be an assassin named Tempus.

This guy might be the finished product,you know like Azir whose first concepts were leaked around the time of jayces release when he was still called Seth.

Overall I wonder how he is going to be different from Zilean,if its true that he has a time traveling ult,then he might be more focused on the traveling part,than actually manipulating time.

Vel'koz deduced that all urtistanians can manipulate time, but zilean is the last of his people. It wouldn't be suprising if another urtistanian from a different dimension (or universe) traveled to zileans (outside of his actual mind) to cure zilean to build a new civilization with temporal magics

Doesn't necessarily mean it will be the same thing. They may have used the name, but abilities and such may be very different. Like the idea behind Bard was from a fan idea called Virgil the Storyteller or something like that but was a very different final champion.

Complete and utter lies. They always use fan ideas. Tons of skins even prove they used fan ideas. So there's plenty of champions out there that have been based around fan ideas.

Doesnt matter how much time you have, what really matter is how you use your time.

Because this one could imply a time mage OR a someone who knows they've only got a limited time left to live. My vote is for the latter.

He's a different kind of terminal. If I understand his lore right, he's about to be possessed and changed into something different, but it was his own choice to do so.

I have a hard time imagining a time mage that would feel very different from Zilean, without people saying "Why doesn't Zilean have that?". A dying person could be anything, with any sort of skills.

Yeah there's a post on to reddit somewhere, it tells of an upcoming champ named Ekko. His powers are time related, he's apparently a black kid and has a huge sword.
