Never been that disappointed by a VGU splash art ever.

Can you be honest and say me, which one looks more terrifying? And better?

They are not even same.

I liked teaser Eve's thin lips, no iris eyes and arachnid hands. She felt less human and more demonic which what majority wants.

Splash Art Eve is like a basic and cliche bitch we can see in many anime female antagonists. She almost feels like she is not going to kill him too because he is a "baka".

I was not taking anime complaining players serious but they seem right. League of Legends going more and more anime. And if she is another Rhaast and Jinx, pretending to be funny and being excited, I will be even more disappointed. I may handle her stupid face, but a Rhaast again? No thanks.

This is my first complain about Riot and its works for a really long time, may be even the first. Just don't disappoint me with her quotes please. And fix her face if you can and make it like teaser. Be consistent.

She is missing the texture of her flesh. The splash is all comic book slutty. Teaser is dangerous AND enticing.

Galio as a rework was widely considered a failure. Nothing even remotely in common with old Galio.

This is actually a pretty big myth on these boards. We survey players regularly about our Champions and VGUs and we get data from old mains and new mains.

Galio has been one of our most successful VGUs we have ever done from a player reception point of view. These boards are a very small percentage of our players and also can be a bit of a echo chamber sometimes.

He had also been one of our stickiest champion updates maintaining a high playrate for a Tank despite having a low winrate.

Also, now that you're here, two questions, one related to Evelynn, and one unrelated:

1.) You've probably seen the sharp criticism of certain aspects of the splash. Are there splashes closer to the teaser that your team would consider deploying?

2.) I know this isn't your team working on this, but do you guys have any word on some things we'll see in the Swain rework? I'd ask about the Ez W Rework, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

  1. We wouldn't make a new splash but we will of course discuss the feedback around the current splash and decide how we want to proceed.

  2. I will be doing a new Champion Roadmap Blog sometime after Eve goes live that will have more details on Swain

Trust me, I really like overall splash art. It's just Evelynn's face feel so cartoonish, and less sadistic. And It is not consistent with teaser Eve.

Only things to fix are face and hands and we're beyond perfect.

I may be harsh but you should know that, it is your teaser being so good causes this. Teaser Eve is so freaking perfect, I can't accept anything less than it.

Don't worry. We love feedback. Yeah the consensus I'm getting is that we should tweak her face in the splash to match the teaser closer. The team will discuss further on Monday but that is the main thread I'm reading in all the feedback here and other places.

What about changing the purple to the pink used in the teaser? I feel as if the colors used in the teaser were really unique, but with the splash the colors feel as if she was void-based.

That's something we can discuss. I think the lighting is making it look more purple. Her in game model looks much closer to the colors of the teaser as also seen in the last Champion Roadmap teaser.

I personally think Galio was a major success, even if he doesn't appear as somber as once was his gameplay is a lot more exciting because of his moment to moment impact. I think SolCrushed nailed him. Plus you guys got Roadhog to voice him

I think the only issue I have with new Galio is that his visuals kind of seem at odds with his personality or the Demacian culture at large. At least in terms of his in-game model:

His empty eye sockets, sharp lines, and stoic, chiseled expression -- they all add up to make him seem like this large, intimidating, emotionless sentry who dispenses justice unwaveringly, kind of like an idealized/archetypal version of a Demacian. I honestly feel this would have been a stronger direction for Galio, since he's supposed to be the image of justice/Demacian culture. But instead, he's this big jovial dude who occasionally wakes up to break stuff, which isn't what you'd expect from such a serious-looking statue.

In terms of gameplay though, Galio's the only tank in League I actually enjoy playing. That's pretty huge, considering the large roster of tank champions. His art is also top notch, and is imo probably the most visually appealing character in the game. So even though I disagree with the direction you guys went with for his personality, I really do love everything else about the champion, and agree he was a success. You already knew that from the data of course, just thought I'd give you my take as someone with multiple views on the character.

I agree he's not as somber as he once was, but you can still hear some somber reflections in his voice as he thinks of going back becoming a statue after every battle. Old Galio I barely touched, New Galio I'm mastery 7 on and would consider one of my favorite champs. 10/10 Solcrushed. [galio-happy]

Galio's rework as a champion----> Success Galio's rework from the pov of him still being Galio---> not Success

He's just very different; especially his mannerisms. He just feels really far from the Galio people held dear.

Riot has been usually good at receiving feedback on Art.

I am on your side on this, the Eve sneak peek has a really well done art which isn't reflected by the leaked splash. I hope that some polishing will be done.

Actually, Fiora's VGU splash and Riot's reaction give me a bit of hope for this one. They edited it and made changes in response to the community, and I REALLY like how it turned out. Hopefully they do similar here, now. While I can't see I am happy with what they have given us, it is still an objectively good piece. Just want them to change the face a bit to show a bit more of that sadistic pleasure our current Eve splash has...

...It would be better if they just kept the current Eve splash, or used the Teaser.

Evelynn deserves any bad words if you think about it. She is sadistic murderer that uses her sexuality as weapon. Don't say me "whore" is not what she doesnt deserve. And men can be whores too. It is not gender specific.

I wouldn't call other female characters like that but tbh Evelynn is the best option.

Whore can be gender neutral but most of the time it's used to refer to women. I've seen it used on women for not being with a guy oddly enough.

You could've just called her a bitch, which is somehow less triggering, but still accurate.

Keep in mind that she'll likely have different visuals during her stealth mode,so one of the pictures might depict her appearance in stealth mode(likely the above one,where she is engulfed in shadows) and the other her appearance when she isn't stealthed anymore.

That can be accepted but still, I don't think her overal face features would change. And I doubt it.

I'm not complaining about her outfit, just face and hands.

I think the biggest offenders in her face are her irises and lips. Irises shouldn't be here and lips should be thin. Others would be skin color (caused by light) and rounder face.

The leaked splash has time to be improved. Full lips are sexy, but the leaked splashes proportions on the mouth, eyes and head shape are overly cartoony

Ye hope so. Tweaks can fix that. Splash Art in overall is pretty nice but face is offensive.

Also, is it me that Riot said Evelynn is going to be modernization but everything that defines Evelynn is changed? No pink hair, no blue skin, mostly pink particules (almost void like), no BDSM spike outfits etc. Plus 2 tentacles behind.

I think she changed more than Urgot and Warwick.

Edits won't compensate for the lack of atmosphere, Malicious.

The old face, drained of all life, was infinitely more terrifying than this drunken jarl or whatever he is (and alluded to actual succubi folklore, which says frequent encounters with a succubus lead to aging and physical deterioration).

The new art is technically perfect and tells a story of its own, don't get me wrong, but it lacks the depth of the teaser.

There's nothing wrong with her face. The difference between the teaser and splash art is who did the coloring or shading. It gives us what others are calling a cartoony look. Also the pose/angle gives us a different mood with Eve. The teaser gives us the perspective of being Eve's victim.

While I prefer the art style of the teaser, the splash art has an interesting atmosphere here. In case I am the only one who noticed it: She is killing a king/jarl/whatever here. Just showing off that she is the best assassin there is, since she can kill someone meaningful like a king in his own rooms. It got witnessed by the queen and she is calling the guards, but it is too late.

Basically, Evelynn is showing off her title here. The Widowmaker. And she just made this queen a widow, while all their safety preparations were not able to prevent it. Both have upsides, it's just that I think the teaser looks a bit better, but the splash definitely tells a cool story.

I agree. That's why I said overall splash art is good. Only problems are face and hands.
