Why not ever playing ranked has allowed me a better League experience.

Been playing League for five years now, and haven't stepped foot in a solo que lobby. I have played 3v3 Twisted Treeline ranked, but that was more of me and my friends having a few giggles. (We were awful.) These have been a happy five years, so it puzzles me when there are people who have been playing a shorter time than me, and yet are talking about quitting and how "tired" they are of League as a whole. Then it hit me. All these people most likely play ranked. And all these people are dissatisfied with their League experience. I began to draw these parallels and found them to pretty much always go together. This also explains why I've had fun with League for five years, when a three year player is getting tired of it. All the talk of champions needing to be nerfed, trolls being an immense problem, and disconnects rarely ever happen to me. This is what makes me happy with League. I've never had to worry about any of that, so I've had no reason to be upset with Riot. If I had to give a single piece of advice to all of you who play ranked religiously, I would say this: Don't take yourself and this game so seriously. It isn't like it is going to kill you if you lose.

I agree as I myself used to play ranked got stuck in the bronze I knew i could do better but too many bad teams, nowadays it's mostly normal games and I do enjoy them more after a win or at least hate them less when I lose.

In my personal experience, normal queue players (silver elo) are much more prone to toxicity than solo queue players. Normal queue players got nothing to lose, so they'll wait in fountain and rage to their hearts content (probably cause of stress/tilt from ranked haha). Solo queue players will rage, but they'll stop at some point to actually play the game, cause they got LP to lose. Pretty much every normal game I play that has a lobby of mostly strangers results in one person getting butthurt over silly things. They're so deadset on being apathetic. If you feed a single kill, they'll damn you to hell (Support main experience). If you explain your reasoning (girlfriend/family/finance issues), they don't care. It's so strange. They care about a normal queue game, they care about a single death of someone who has been positive and friendly the entire game more than they care about most of their relatives. I play primarily normal queues (more than 99% of my games played are norms) and in the near two years I've played, I've faced more hate than I did in 5 years of RuneScape. Don't get me wrong, the worst thing I say to players is "you're rude", and try to lighten their mood with self-bashing jokes. Regardless of my efforts most of the time, they just act worse. I hadn't played a league other than a few arams for about a week, and played my first returning game today. Our kayle called me and our katarina garbage, judged everything about us from in-game to real life, just heartless comments. I did the usual stuff, said "Rude." and "I bought this account pls no report". She reported me in the endgame screen for being toxic. applause
