You are allowed to dodge. If you're confident the game will be a loss, the game will take you ~20-30 minutes and cost you 10-20 LP. IF you dodge, it costs you 5 minutes and 3 LP, thus saving you 15-25 minutes and 7-17 LP. That's a net gain.
Just looking from a numbers perspective.
