Better Jungler·12/12/2015, 8:47:49 PM·1 votes·340 views

I have played league of legends since early season 2. I remember my first champion ever played, and it was darius during his free week. Oh the thrill of learning all the nooks and crannys to the game. Seeing how vision effected the map, and players abilities and skill level synergized with other players, all working together to accomplish a mission. I quickly fell in love with the terrible graphics, and spent an unmeasurable amount of time learning each champs abilities over thousands of games. In season two i hit 30, and in season three, i was placed in silver, and worked my way to gold with the help of leblanc. In season four i dropped into bronze after a long break due to job constraints. When i came back, i used Diana jungle, and cleaned house to reach gold again, and then this season, amidst the rageblade jax's and 2 item yasuos, it hit me.

I dont enjoy this game any more.

I log on, and get annoyed at patch notes, and go to play a game, and get annoyed at champ select, the loading screen pops up and theres a cute reminder that the chat filter, AND mute function, isnt enough to stop someone from reporting you for cursing in chat. The game loads, and im annoyed sitting under tower while my enemy free farms, im annoyed with the jungler for farming, and the bot lane for giving first blood. Im annoyed with the wards, and the items, and the numbers never adding up. The game ends, and im annoyed with the "gg ez" from either team. I see the mastery system, and im annoyed with the lack of rewards for accomplishing that task.

I dont like who I become when i play this game, and I know whole heartedly im not alone in this.

LoL is known for its terrible community, but these are not bad people grouped up to play a game. Its not like every pre-pubescent manboy joined league with the intent to trash talk. For the most part, EVERYONE plays with a common goal to accomplish the victory. You are placed with 4 other players, whom you have to rely on to do their jobs, JUST well enough for you to do yours. The enemy starts snowballing, and now you're forcing another player to leave their job, and pick up your slack, to prevent a loss.

Riot is a whole other mess im not going to say much on in this final post. They refuse to acknowledge structural problems that induce the rage that occurs in most matches of this game. They release half-ass content like Mastery systems, then give no difficulty to attaining the highest tier of mastery, and no rewards for doing so either. The company will gladly say "illiao likes mangos" on 100 different Forum posts, but has no red text to spare when someone asks a legitimate question.

League of legends has truly given me years of entertainment. Ive been the carrying champ of the month with the pentakills left and right, and ive been the inexperienced dude that was killed by chasing singed for a bit too long. I have seen Veigar DFG, and Silence Talon. Ive been the Rager, yelling at teammates and flaming for each tiny mistake, and ive, in turn, been the punching bag for many many people to blame mistakes on. Ive Cried OP, Ive Cried Broken, and Ive complained about the uselessness of a champion in the current metas. I spent hundreds of dollars on skins, and champs that sounded great to play, and ive made a ton of friends taht ive moved onto other games with. And i dont regret a single moment or dollar ive spent in League of Legends.

So now with a happy heart, I say Goodbye to League of Legends, and Riot Games.

I say no but mainly because I only started playing in January of 2015, so I'm sill fairly new to the game. As a result it hasn't gotten old to me and, to be honest, pre-season has really reminded why I enjoy the game. Finding new ways to accomplish the goals, whether that be new strategies, new builds or new champions, I enjoy that.

There is no better test in stress/anger management than playing a single game of league of legends, and thats a fucking problem.

You know, typically people are really salty when they announce they're quitting. But you're actually the first person I've seen who whole-heartedly says that this is a good game, but it's your time to leave.

Thank you for being nice.
