As it appears Sion is going to get his major re-release this upcoming October as many believed. This said; the fact remains that we have had a boom! boom! BOOM!! of new releases to LoL these past few weeks. New champs, reworks, and we have yet to get the new SR that may or may not come this upcoming November or December. As they have said, It is to be thought that SR update will come out in February of next year (as this is just my prediction) and it may come sooner. ~~My thought right now would have to be is Sion going to cost more now with such a major rework?~~

Lastly, check out this awesome new page they added. It tells a lot about Sion and is epic all the same. Though it is unfinished at this time, I for one can't wait to see what happens later on and what he will become.

I doubt making Sion cost more would be well received regardless of the rework scale. There is no precedent for such a thing if we go off previous champion reworks (Karma, Trundle, etc).

However, it isn't unlikely that we might see a few skins get an increase in price once they receive touch ups. Even then, the skins won't increase in price until after an announcement.

Maybe (hopefully) they will also make a "Traditional skin", as they did with Sejuani , Trundle and Karma . For the nostalgic people out there :P (very plx)

We sure that's Sion? They've never made that big of a deal of a champ rerelease. I assumed it was a new champ before seeing this thread.

As a Sion main, that Axe can't be anything but. Couple that with his imposing face/build and the lore about him not being denied victory even by death... it's got to be the main man.

I actually see it slightly differently. His bit about breaking the will of a nation reminded me a lot of the legend of the 300 Spartans at Thermopylae. I can actually totally see some Greek influence if anything.

That's not to say, however, that Sion should not get a Putin skin or something... A giant middle finger to the rest of the battlefield as he walks forward and through the armies to decapitate his enemies.

Now, something I see being totally possible is a passive linked to that decapitation line: "To cut their army's head from its body." Maybe every 4 or 5 hits, Sion aims his axe at the target's neck, dealing extra damage. Kind of like the passive on Jax's Ult. But then again, what do I know? I'm just a simple summoner.

Y'now, it's kinda unfair. Trundle fans have their character completely rewritten. Sion fans have their character elevated to a Noxian legend that felled a Demacian king.

Azir was just released, it'll probably be another two months before another champion is released. Sion fits the lore and the picture pretty well, and he's been up for a relaunch for a while now.

And it's not uncommon for Riot to try something new for a champion; Jinx had a music video with her launch, to my knowledge that was a one time thing. Especially since Riot just relaunched their entire lore, it might just be seen as a good opportunity to expand on the lore retconn by using the Sion relaunch as a retconn for the Demacia-Noxus conflict; I didn't know Sion killed Jarvan III before, nor did I know LeBlanc and the Black Rose seems to have something to do with bringing Sion back to life.

Jarvan III is still alive. He's the current King of Demacia. The one that Sion killed was either the second or the first. Moobeat seems to think it's the second.

yea i've been reading more since I made this comment, thanks for your help though! I'm personally of the opinion that it's the first, since they didn't specify "Jarvan II" in the teaser; I felt they would have if it were the case.

I dont think they have ever completely re-released a champion, I think you are confusing it with a visual upgrade. Relaunches are basically a rework and visual upgrade all wrapped up in one, essentially a completely new character. The closest thing was probably Trundle , but it isn't really a rerelease since his kit was almost 100% the same.
