Level 6 mastery from skin shard?

Hey,

So I'm trying to upgrade Alistar from mastery 5 to 6 and I have the 2 tokens and a skin shard for him..... why doesn't it work? There are two options, one for champion shard, and another option that I assumed was a skin shard.... am I mistaken?

It's champion shard or champion permanent. Skin shards don't work for increasing mastery. Sounds like you'll have to pick up some of those ip champion shards for that sweet blue essence.
