Was Malphite support after last pick forced me out of jungle and I wasn't up to duo jungling and screwing over our adc. To his credit though... he was an incredible jungle.

Post 6 I would ult the enemy team, they would blow everything on me, Kalista would ult me, they switch focus to our carries and I went right back in and died almost everytime.

Kalista : Lol. Why do you go in every time I save you? Malphite : Because landing 2 knockups on the enemy team and securing teamfights and objectives is worth one Malphite.

Or this instance... Enemy team catches top lane out and I am nearby. He is running but it is obvious he is not getting out alive so I ping him away as I ult into the enemy team and stall while he escapes and the rest of our team gets 2 towers because killing a tank Malphite is anything from instant.

Top: WTF? Me: You are on a killstreak. They can't get shutdown gold from me. Top: So stupid.

Or ulting dragon/baron pit and stealing without any means of escape.

I had a jungle steal dragon and get bitched at.

"Why the fuck would you die for dragon." "Because us having 3 dragons is better than having two to one."

Sometimes, making a sacrifice is the best option.

Like I always say.

"If my death allows my team to ace the entire team, I will gladly die in every fight."

as long as you die to secure objectives/teamfights for your team.

All those sound like good decisions. Why would they flame you?

From the lol wiki:

Tanks:Champions with extremely high defense, health, and crowd control abilities, but low attack damage or poor ability power scaling. Tanks are usually champions that combine high amounts of health, armor, and magic resistance. If left alone, tanks are able to absorb high amounts of damage or create disables on their foes, which make them great harassers as well. In battle, this type of champion is usually expected to start/initiate (or at least be in the front of) the team fight; soaking up damage, and helping focus certain enemies (Marksman and Mage champions). Due to their low damage output, they must rely on their Assassin, Marksman, Fighter, and Mage champions to finish the enemy off or chase them down when they initially weakened them. As a result, Tanks are not expected to gain high kills but more assists. Tank champions should be able to initiate teamfights and CC the enemy team since they are generally the frontline. They are also meant to be a protector of the team, and must be willing to sacrifice themselves for vulnerable allies if necessary.

The thing they were probably upset about is they would prefer nobody died. You definitely made the right choice in those situations, but they all would have liked it much more if by some divine intervention you never died whenever you saved your team like that, no matter how unrealistic that goal is.

I've had similar situations as Taric before, like canceling my back to stun their 16 and 4 Alkali so my team could back safely. My ADC was like "seriously? wtf are you doing feeder!" "I'm making sure they only got me since I'm expendable, you're not". People never look at the situation from the perspective of how bad it could have been, but how much better it might have been, and that makes sacrifice like yours go strangely undervalued.

2pudge1cup5/3/2015, 1:58:17 PM6 votes

That's very big of you to admit the jungler was incredible.

wetPP5/3/2015, 5:34:05 PM3 votes

Yea I have been reported quite often for saving teammates like this and making sure we win the game (and riot punished me for it, though they never punished the guy who said he was going to murder me)

anyway, yea almost every time I save 1 or more people but die I get yelled at and reported for feeding. Sometimes I don't even die and the one I saved still feels the need to tell me what a dumb shit I am for going in like I did. I often wonder if only stupid people play this game.

If anyones death gives the rest of the team any kind of advantage above and beyond that death then it was well worth it. ALWAYS.

IziMytTJd75/3/2015, 4:25:55 PM2 votes

I've never seen an instance when the jungler dies to get dragon and is not hailed as a god.

ZACKandATTACK5/3/2015, 8:31:12 PM2 votes

I agree with all of your sacrifices except for the dragon one. Unless it is for yours or theirs Dragon 5 or Baron then Objective steals really aren't worth it.

I just hate it when they flame me for it.. Yea I died, but I also saved the whole team

This is just yet another reason to add onto the ever-expanding list why I refuse to go back and try ranked. Heaven forbid I actually make logical decisions.

There is hardly, if ever, an absolutely idealistic situation.

If my teammates decide to double-back (which is almost ALWAYS), then die, I'm to blame when they would have otherwise been saved.

Too many people cannot wrap their heads around the very concept of self-sacrificing for the benefit of the team.

More often than not, I can't get an ADC who will CS while I fend the enemy off and, instead, they would let hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of essentially free gold over the course of a game, disappear into thin air.

If I could play on a 5v5 team with people I knew in-person, this wouldn't be a problem but since I don't have friends who play the game (except one on the literal opposite side of the country), I'll stick to Team Builder and pray I'm not going to be clumped with a bunch of PvP heroes who can't even think 5 minutes ahead, let alone 20+.

it is but people only see kills you dear sir deserves to be master summoner in league

Spacesuit Spiff5/3/2015, 10:24:39 PM1 votes

Doing stuff like this ended up being my go-to gameplan when I got stuck in low elo. Sure it's nice to build damage and wreck people, but just flat out winning the teamfight is more important (although I usually try to barely survive so I can help clean up afterwards)

Rengar Top Lane5/3/2015, 8:54:31 AM1 votes

As Rengar, I make sacrifices sometimes/succumb to the "Rengar syndrome" and dive that adc in the middle/back. Only will do this if team can win a 4v4 without me, when the enemy team does not have an adc.

As the casters so often say... it's not about how many deaths your team has, it's about what those deaths accomplished.

I Do this all the time, but with Anivia :D Had the entire team going after us, I intentionally run back in, they defeat me and the passive activates. they all focus me, and ignore my partner.

When I die for my adc as Janna...

Rikari5/3/2015, 4:47:32 PM1 votes

The more you die,the lower your gold value too. be wary of csing/killing as this raises your gold value. helpful info. wp still

It's why I always splitpush when our teamcomp is so unfit for teamfights. But team will flame me, because we should get aced in a 5v5 and lose the game at 20, instead of trying to get any objectives and win at 40.
