League Points after series

So let me see if I understand this: You get to series and lose 2 games, you are at like 54 or 60 LP. You get to series and you WIN 2 games...you are at 0 LP.

So if you lose series, you are that much closer to being a lower rank, but if you win, you are not that much closer to being a higher rank.

Seems unfair, and seems to be in favor of punishing losses more than they reward wins.

Am I missing something here?

The amount of LP you are down to after losing a series is based on your MMR. If you have a higher MMR, you're LP loss will be less. If your MMR is super low, your LP loss will be more. I am in my Bronze IV promos right now. I have lost 2 promo series in the last two weeks, and I've been going down to around 68 LP. However, 2 more wins, and I'm back in promos. That just means my MMR is right where it's supposed to be.

After you get promoted, you're at 0 LP, but you have demotion immunity for a couple games right away.
