What is wrong with the boards...

I post a thread about a balance change, i was just curious as to what people thought about it. Little did i know this is not the place to discuss balance changes. I put forth an idea that Rengar's Jump should be effected by Silences, i even gave an example of why i thought it should be so. Am i demanding it be changed? No i just wanted to know if it was a good idea or not. Of course i chose the wrong place to post because no one even addressed the topic, all i got was down votes and people saying "You are an idiot, Rengars jump is a passive and Silences dont effect passives"... NO SHIT SHERLOCK, im obviously aware that silences dont effect passives as i am putting forth an idea where a silence would effect his passive, which implies I KNOW IT DOESNT EFFECT HIS PASSIVE!...

I dont care if you down vote because its a bad idea but at least read my freaking post before commenting, then you will see I KNOW HIS JUMP IS A PASSIVE AND THAT SILENCES DONT EFFECT PASSIVES WHICH IS WHY IM POSTING ABOUT A CHANGE TO MAKE SILENCES EFFECT ONLY HIS PASSIVE.

Its a little sad i need to post things like im talking to a 5 yr old, i just wanted some feedback from Rengar players to see if it would effect him all that much. I imagine not, but i dont play Rengar so its hard for me to know. I do play Malzahar and in the example that i gave the only way to survive was if my Silence could stop him. Here is my post if you are curious and if you have an opinion on the actual change then please tell me why it is a good idea or bad. Rengar Shouldn't Be Able To Jump From Bush While Silenced

Actually, considering a minimum of 20% of the community hates anything, you will always be subjected to things like "X doesn't need a rework", if you get replies at all.

I made 5 rework ideas, and they are all in the abyss at the moment

and yet if i was to post something like "Fuck Fizz" or "YI OP" or "NERF VAYNE" id get 50-100 upvotes... I post a legit balance change that id like to discuss but because it goes beyond their capability to understand they call me an idiot.. i mean a Silence effecting a passive? bah what a retard i am, Silences no work on passive...

Ok but why is it bullshit? Can someone tell me why it is a bad idea other then "SILENCE NO WORK ON PASSIVE!!!" because i already understand that which is why im asking my question....

Because thematically it makes no sense.

Because there's already counterplay to this (since he can only jump from concealment - aka invisibility or brush).

Because in terms of balance it's unreasonable to force only one effect of a given type to be affected by silence, but not others.

Note: This last point isn't "SILENCE NO WORK ON PASSIVE!!!" Rather, it is "it's poor design to have Silences affect Rengar's passive, but nobody else's."

And to address your "I can stop other assassin gapclosers with my silence" point - the primary difference between the two is general availability. Specifically, those other assassins always have their gapclosers available, barring cooldowns and resource costs. Rengar's, however, is entirely dependent upon his positioning.

In other words: All those people you can silence can jump on you from anywhere, at any time. Rengar can only jump on you from brush (or from invisibility due to his ult) - and he does so whether he wants to or not.

People did provide legitimate counter-arguments which appealed to game clarity. Just because you don't like those arguments does not mean they are invalid or that you weren't heard. Those who responded did not like your idea because it suggested arbitrarily changing a game mechanic to behave differently from every other mechanic like it.

Usually when I see a phrase like this is means "say it so everyone can understand, regardless of their experience with the topic". I don't see how this is a bad thing, or why it would make you sad.

I'm talking about responding to their comments. If they read the post it pretty much addresses what they are commenting about, i shouldn't have to say the same thing 1000 times to everyone who is posting the same thing.

I've noticed there's a group of a dozen people that just down-vote everything once a week, I chalk them up to trolls. And since riot doesn't look through boards often, you're probably just better off reposting it later as a new one.
