I have grown to immensely respect the men and women over at Riot Games.

I am a frequent Boards browser, and I am... disheartened. The words I see, are not ones of encouragement. They are words of anger and sometimes hatred, directed at the people who run Riot. Specifically the balance team, and the lore team. Many of the posts that condemn or speak ill of Riot are ignored most of the time, which I see for the better, but some of them are not. Specifically, the "Separate Discussion" page created by Mirage Night. (Look at me I just used specifically to open a sentence twice in a row, aren't I stupid.) This page if you don't know, is a lore discussion page written about the absence of any serious lore developments in the League of Legends universe. It is quickly gaining in popularity, and many are commenting their personal feelings about Riot's decision to cut the old lore. But I read through, and found that Riot ShadowStorm had an intelligent back and forth conversation with a few players about the lore. And I have to say, I respect you ShadowStorm. You stood your ground and spoke what you felt about the current state of the lore, and acknowledged the players who feel differently than you do. But you actually responded, and spoke on a person to person level with the players. This post, unlike many now and days, is a shout out to all of you boys and girls at Riot. Keep doing what you are doing. League of Legends is one of the most fun games I have played in a while, and that's saying something for a World War FPS veteran like myself. I love (not that way) and respect all of you over at Riot games, and I am very happy that you will take the time to respond to those who are less than nice in what they have to say. And if you reader, don't like that fact that I back up Riot, then you can kiss my rosy. Red. Ass.

We need more post like this, since it shows Rioters that people are willing to have civil conversations and we don't all think they are fucking up the game or whatever. By trying to threaten bloody revolution against Riot, the people who care about lore have all but ensured no Rioter will touch a lore thread. Shout out to ShadowStorm for braving the hell hole known as the angry lore fan base.

I'm not letting off the PVP.net issue. The frequent disconnect from the game is infuriating me. The lore, balancing and mechanics are bad, but nothing compared to the dc. I can't even play. I've been waiting almost two weeks with no resolve. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be waiting before I can resume a normal experience. The lore can wait, the balancing is miniscule, the reworks are meh, but what is the point of any of it if I can't even play. I'm not shouting it and pissing in a post to aim it at Riot. I just want the issue resolved and have any band-aids applied until it can be resolved.

I read through shadowstorm's post as well, and from what i saw he did encourage intelligent discussion; however he did not engage in any of the discussions he himself created. His first post was a very intelligent, well thought out question. However his second post did not follow up on any of the answers given. Instead he responded to a post that -while answering him- did not give any insight or suggestion. His third post was to a completely unrelated comment, spinning off on a small tangent in conjunction with his fourth post. His fifth post was answering a more personal question, and his sixth post was vague and reiterating his fourth post. I applaud Rioters every time they interact with us board members, however even when they try to engage with us it can only ever be to a certain degree where they cannot do anything more than encourage our own debates. This may be above their heads (nondisclosure agreements and so forth), however it does nothing to quell our discontent at the state of the current lore. I do not dislike rioters in general, however currently they have done nothing to assuage our fears about the current state of this game, and I see that as a failure to their loving fanbase. I am upset, however to be clear I still love this game and the people that run it, but I am discontent. They have not delivered on their promise, and I will remain upset until they do.
