Stop pretending that toxicity isa bigger issue than trolls and afkers

While toxicity is more prevalent, I would MUCH, MUCH rather have 4 teammates telling me to kill myself then a feeder. I take this game seriously - I'm not that good (S5, lost a lot recently), and i make mistakes too, but unless the score is literally like 10-50 i always take the game seriously. This is also coming from someone with clinical depression - don't think that I'm "not understanding" people who take these insults to heart. Toxicity is bad - people like Dunkey deserved the ban, however, Riot refuses to talk that much about afkers/trolls and instead goes on and on about toxicity

while i agree with you, i would rather have a toxic player with skill than a feeder (mute, huehue), i think rito is punishing toxic players because its easier. you have the chat logs, you know what happened. with feeders, its hard to, because someone could just be genuinely bad at the game. they still want to play though, and thats their right. so it can be harder to distinguish between intentional feed and just a bad player. and with afk, sometimes it cant be avoided. yeah you have people that flame and leave, but a lot of people have no choice but to leave. so rito uses the leavers on them. its not permanent, so you can get back to regular queues after. and thats what it comes down to. being toxic is a choice, 100% of the time. you dont have to say anything but you do. and i think thats why they crack down on it more. you can be 100% sure that this person is being toxic by reading the chat logs, its their choice, and thats why its such a problem. with afk's and feeders you cant really be sure if its intentional or not

What makes you think they are only focusing on toxic people? Its just one of the first phases of handling this type of behavior since it is much more easier to find a toxic person than someone who is not only intentionally feeding, but doing it so often that once they trigger the reports it results in a ban. Sadly like i said its just easier to find and handle. It doesnt mean that is their only focus. They do ban people who troll/afk. You just dont see those types of people complaining to no end on the forums. Sadly only people who think they can type anything they want feel that once they have broken the rules they are baffled that they are ban, thus resulting in them complaining about it on the forums. I assume people who do get ban from afk, feeding, etc know full well why they were ban and handle it much more better than the toxic people!

Because of the mute button and chat restrictions, verbal toxicity is LITERALLY a non-issue.

Now why did you bring up Dunkey? Were you asking for a shitstorm?

The system to identify intentionally feeding/trolling teammates is (going? already?) live this patch. It's a significantly harder programming problem to solve, which is why it took longer to implement.

As for "why toxicity", it's because that's what this game has a bad reputation for. If the game had a reputation of being plagued with hackers, then you'd see hack detection being focused on. If the reputation was that it was plagued with intentional feeders, then they would have put less focus on tracking toxicity and would have focused more on intentional feeding earlier. It's business 101, and you can't fault Riot for it.
