I don't know why I'm even writing this post, really, just bored out of my mind and have nothing better to do, I guess.

I'm just getting so sick and tired of League though. Not only is it so repetitive that it hurts, but the mechanics themselves just aren't all that interesting for me; every game is full of the same champions, the same comps, the same map, the same rotations, the same mechanics, the same minions... the same everything. I'm not a person that likes static games, so I don't even know why I've played League for as long as I have (June of 2015)... I guess I just have nothing better to do. Honestly, I really don't even enjoy League. It doesn't help that every match is full of the same bullshit "balance" either.

Honestly, I would like to find something else to play, and finally be done with League -- but I just can't find any games worth playing. Gaming just isn't the same anymore. Gone is the challenge, the thought, the well-written story, the originality... everything is just a carbon copy of something else with a fresh coat of paint, and developers don't really give a damn about anything other than money anymore (even Riot)... so we have a bunch of crappy, half-assed games that just aren't fun. I enjoy complex, highly-demanding games that you can't just click or push a couple buttons and win -- you know, where your rotation takes some thought (in an MMO sense). WoW is now just a spamfest that you really can't mess up; GW2 is interesting, but there is no challenge, and you're limited to few buttons; Wildstar was cool at first, but it just quickly got boring for many of the same reasons as GW2 (very simplistic combat, no real challenge anywhere); FFXIV is just boring, the combat is incredibly stale...I just don't know what to do. I don't enjoy shooters or MOBAs (Why am I even playing League? I really don't know), and have nothing else to do aside from video games (nor is there anything to do where I live, and I have no friends, so...), so I just don't know what to do at this point -- don't really enjoy anything anymore.

So, does anyone have any idea what I can do? Anyone know a good MMO or some other game that will last more than a day or two? Is there anything I can do to make League more enjoyable? I'm just kind of at a loss here.

Sorry for ranting.

Yeah, I know. Maybe some conversation will start or something, who knows. Maybe I'll just get downvoted into oblivion -- always fun. Or, as is usual, the thread will be ignored and I'll just sit here, as usual.

I usually troll post "nobody cares" but if you want to enjoy this game more, you have to really focus on improving. This game becomes stale if you constantly spam rank in hopes you'll climb by acquiring wins, in reality you need to improve after every game. Once you start climbing, the game becomes a passion, but if you never focus on improving it becomes stale.

I just really don't have fun right-clicking on people and pushing the same three buttons over and over and over. Besides, no matter what I do, the outcome of my games is based on my "team" that I'm given. I can't 1v5 carry a game.

Welp you have the low elo mentality where "no matter what I do my team is always bad. I can't carry". Can't help you then, you gotta change the way you think or else you will never improve no matter what game you play.

No, I have the mentality that you develop after over a thousand games at like a 40% win rate despite having a 3.7 average KDA and winning lane most of the time, roaming, doing everything you can.

There's only so much I can do. Only time I win is when I have a team that can actually use its brain.

That's not why I'm bored though. I'm bored because this game just isn't fun for me. I came from MMOs, where I had 15-20+ abilities and CDs to keep track of... 3 + 1 just isn't fun.

There goes that mentality again. That is literally the only thing holding you back from ever improving. You think you have done everything you can so you don't see anything you can improve on. That's why you've been stuck in low elo forever. This game is not fun for you because you are not improving.

Okay, so tell me what I can do when 9/10 games I'm the only person who even knows hows to play the game on my team. Seriously, I'll be like, 6/2 at 15 minutes, everyone else will be 1/9 and lost their lane. What can I do?

You're missing something mechanically or decision making wise. Good kda can't win you the game alone. You have to be adept at positioning, team fighting, roaming, warding, getting objectives over kills. Watch your replays on replay.gg and learn from your mistakes. You also have to know that some games are just unwinnable but this alone should not keep you from climbing.

Another thing is that some of your builds on champions are horrible. Look up some decent guides and follow their build path. Never buy bortk or triforce for graves.

I hear that, with triple A companies just doing cookie-cutter games, it's difficult to find anything interesting. And even the indy market is becoming lack luster, sure older games are great; but with the majority of the market screwing over backwards compatibility, there's not much 'conventional' options left. These days I play terraria & antichamber, occasionally some portal 2 as well.

Yeah. I really do wish companies still cared about what they do, but now it's just all about the money these days -- really just kind of makes me sad. Even Nintendo is losing what they once had.

Every now and then there's a good Indie game, but they're just, as you said, always kind of lackluster. Like, Ori and the Blind Forest was super fun, but it only lasted like 7 hours, and I cleared it 100% on the first go. You can only beat the old games so many times before they start to get old though. : /

I really do wish some new company would come out that rivals old Nintendo, or, hell, maybe I could start a new company one day and force people to build quality to compete with me. It'd be nice for gaming to be an art again, instead of just a cash grab.

I don't really have anything to play, so most of my time just goes to League.

I concur entirely, I miss the days when they tried to make their games fun instead of pretty; the days when they had meaningful story arcs instead of lame single-player experiences. When the game was packed with weeks worth of content instead of a few hours; when add-ons actually increased the gameplay ~50% instead of ~5%. If you do start a company, I wish you the best of luck!
