Is the game really that bad now? I remember when 80% of the boards were filled with memes a couple years back

The game isn't bad. The boards are just an outlet for people to whine. Riot makes questionable balance decisions all the time but it's never as bad as the boards makes it out to be.

One second AD is broken beyond belief, then AP is broken beyond belief. One second Assassins are useless and the next second assassins need to be gutted. One second ranged AP burst is healthy for the game for "reasons" and the next second ranged AP burst is unhealthy for the game for "reasons".

In all my time playing this game i have never really felt like quitting because of balance, riot's decisions, or the state the game is in. I have only wanted to quit because of the community.

When you consider the fact pretty much every one of the 130+ champs has a win rate between 45% and 55% at all times is pretty impressive. Not to mention Riot tries to keep things fresh and improve their game at the same time as balancing. I guarantee more people would leave if no new changes were made than the people who leave due to the result of recent changes.

People like to shit on this community (I've been on of them in the past, keyword past), but take a community from some of the other popular online games, and LoL would be dead or abandoned (by the community) within a year.

Imagine if we had the community of say, World of Warcraft or Eve Online. People that haven't been around either much have no idea just how good they have it with this community. Sure there are more bad apples by the numbers, because this is STILL the most popular online game, but percentage wise, it is by far one of the better communities I've seen or been a part of.

What's stopped yah? I made the jump, and I'm much happier for it.

League of Legends, the game, is pretty okay as far as balance is concerned. It's the playerbase that makes it god-awful. Sadly it's that same playerbase that you need to make the game work :P

this game fills too many niches for me. it has mechanics, strategy, teamwork, and macro play. I love all of those types of games.

Fair dos. I'm pretty much the same, just elements outside of the game itself (Dev, players etc) have made it far too difficult to enjoy for me.

Welcome to the gameplay forum, the place few people with an actual brain respect because all it takes to get 100+ upvotes is a "Why does Yasuo ult move you out of turret range" or "Why does lee kick stun you in cast time when it doesnt stun him" or w/e the boards hates this time thread that you took less than 1 minute to make.

How is it a bad thing? Those are legitimate rethorical questions. Those are things that shouldn't happen. OBVIOUSLY as long as they don't get changed we repeat them.

If you want to make a post like that, honestly, go ahead. What bothers me is that there is no content in the post. Its just a title and then something like "Seriously, does x really need this?"

The main problem of many gameplay post is that they have a lack of actual though. Call Yas op for the 100th time, whatever, but give solid evidence. The people that right a few paragraphs I can respect, even if they make bad points. Those that make Lee op post then say hes overloaded and list everything he has and write nothing else are why the gameplay forum has a reputation of being a big circle-jerk,

And, since a ton of low effort memes get attention and upvotes, why bother writing anything of quality? Just do what they do. Short, concise, to the point, and often done with little though.

If an issue is circlejerking echo chambers, memes and games does the exact same. Most of them are exactly that. Either circlejerk or anti-circlejerk circlejerk.

Very rarely, is it actually something thought out.

But that's the nature of M&G, I guess.

The start of this season was REALLY bad but now its oke. Things are still a little of balance but not that much more than other seasons. I guess it will be good again by world patch and that ap jugnle and tank jugnle will be playable again.

What the hell, this isn't even remotely true. Just look at the Gameplay hot page, people are complaining about each other in all those Vladimir threads (they generally hate on "sheeps" rather than Riot), the Nunu discussion is still at the top (which again isn't about a balance issue), several random topics are also huge (toplane best lane, sightstone discussion, complaint about people being too stupid at playing with a tank) and the occasional damage creep thread that has been ongoing since season 4.

This is NOTHING compared to the times where the as item was op (devourer, ff, whatever they were called) or when Riven was actually OP or when Caitlyn was even more annoying or when Vayne was actually meta or when..

As of right now people aren't really that enthusiastic about hating on Lethality even the Yasuo haters are getting half-hearted. Also, people ALWAYS hated on Riot even back when the boards didn't even exist so lurk more

the most vocal people are always the people who are pissed off. That's why whenever you look at the boards it's always bitching. My favorite was always urf or one for all and all those game modes. Whenever urf was around all you'd ever see was people bitching about how urf was over rated, but whenever it wasn't you'd get people bitching that the game modes weren't around enough.

Probably because they're never fucking addressed. If people's complaints were addressed, you'd see them stop. (Probably in favour of other complaints, but that's besides my point).

Half of the complaints are things where people seriously just need to git gud. I try and refrain from giving that as advice, but, seriously, half of the things people are whining about can be solved by simply thinking differently or being more skilled. Graves is too strong? Ban him, play a counter to him, or just outplay him. Yasuo's broken? He's a royal pain in the ass to fight, sure, but he's not broken. Lethality's broken? Play an assassin against whoever's building it, or just buy Thornmail. Sure, there are some legitimate complaints (some champions are just in bad spots right now, or maybe you don't like what Riot did with the design of your main (so only about 3% of the people upset about the Galio rework can actually say crap, because there were only about 7 Galio mains, and 12 people that played him semi-regularly). Maybe you just think a champion's unfun - either as or against that champion - and they could use a minor rework. Those are legitimate complaints. Simply whining about things that you don't perceive as balanced, but actually are in the bigger picture, isn't.

The problem is that people don't have the wherewithal to realise that they're just whining most of the time....rather than giving proper complaints and feedback :P
