overpriced runes and pages pissing me OFF....

good grief it's bad enough the runes themselves cost so much, and are so needed, but these 6.3k rune pages....

last season I finally was able to complete 9 generic rune pages, but it's still not enough.

I want to basically duplicate each rune page with scaling runes, and also want a couple or more gold per 10 sec pages, maybe some exp rune pages, flat health pages..

I've played this game to an unhealthy extent over the past 2 and a half years yet I still don't have all champs I'm still FAR from completing my desired rune pages.

Maybe by the end of season 7...

This game is not pay to win but it definitely helps if you can afford constant IP boosts for runes, and buy max rune pages with real cash.

One thing is for sure, One account is all I can maintain. My goal of ranking a second account has vanished.

Its a typical currency funnel scheme. There has to be an expansive drain on in game currency to make purchased currency valuable. Think of it this way, if you're a person who plays reasonably often, and wants to own a at least a fraction of the 120+ champs there is no feasible way to purchase both runes, rune pages, and champs all on an IP income. Champs are capable of being purchased with RP for this very reason. The system is built to force you into dumping IP into runes, and pages just to stay viable in any form of competitive meta.

This is coming from a guy who's been playing since early season 2, and I've only just now hit the point where i'm not buying champs the first chance I get with IP. As it stands there's less than an a handful that i don't own, all of which i just don't like as champs. It took years of casually playing, and not buying runes to even reach this point. Have you ever wondered why Champs upon release are 1500 IP points extra for the first week or so? It's to "trick" compulsive buyers into purchasing the champ with RP or buying the budget pack that comes with the champ, and skin upon release.

Short answer. Greed. Very smart, very sneaky, very manipulative greed.

This is why I'm not buying champions until hextech crafting comes out. I've bought my one-trick champion, just saving up for runes for them and biding my time.
