Gotta love it.

Honestly, I don't even know why I try. Doesn't matter what role I play, what champ I play, what I build, what I do, nothing. Because, in the end, you don't win because of anything you do. You win based on how fucking bullshit your team is, how much spammable CC you have, and how tanky you can build while still dealing more damage than carries.

Balance doesn't exist, never has existed, and never will exist in this game. Just one of the many benefits of having a wonderful F2P company like Riot, with a CEO like Beck who obviously cares deeply about his product and consumer base, and thinks of more than just money -- or Huateng, our lovely Asian overlord over at Tencent who cares so very much for his western brothers and sisters in gaming.

So, really, I don't know why I bother trying to enjoy this game -- because, in the end, this game isn't meant to be enjoyable, it's meant to be profitable. Really do wish all the morons listened to us 10+ years ago, when we told them that F2P would be the death of any semblance of quality in gaming. But, did they listen? Of course not! Free games! Who could pass that up? It's too bad they didn't see the shitty people hiding behind suits and smiles that were at the head of the whole movement. F2P isn't a good thing for the playerbase, but it's AMAZING for the companies.

Really do wish some company would come out that gave a damn again, but all we get are crooked, slimy suits who have some kind of self esteem issue and use money to make themselves feel better -- at other peoples' expense (in more ways than one).

So, thanks, kids. You went and destroyed an industry with your laziness. ^^ Love you.

League of Legends being free is something that was basically needed for the game to work. Bascially all games based around online multiplayer have to be free. This is to create a large playerbase. TF2, Dota, League, etc... Overwatch has the benefit of being made by Blizzard, a company with lots of many that is popular. League was originally made by not too many people, and started off small. F2P has nothing to do with game balance mate. If you want to say League is a bad game whatever, but if you're going to tell me TF2 is a bad game, your so very incorrect

EQ, DAOC, AC, WoW, Lineage, etc. All multiplayer, none were free to begin with.

And, yes, F2P does impact balance. Since, in a perfectly balanced game, they can't make FOTM waves to boost skin sales. They just get low, steady income instead of spikes that average out to a much higher overall income. So the game never will be balanced, and we'll have waves of broken or strong champs, and continually reward the easiest champs in the game for nothing.

Then they were made free. Riot just made skins for nocturne, singed, and kayle. Kayle is kinda fotm i guess, singed is incredibly uncommon, and nocturne is somewhere inbetween. The game has horrendous balance right now, I won't deny that, but the game has been considered balanced many times throughout lol history. For example, in the patch right after sej/gragas/cinderhulk got nerfed, many would consider this to be very balanced. Granted that was a year ago, but lol was still free then. A game with 127 characters is very hard to balance. Even games with much less like Super Smash Bros have a hard time balancing their roster. The game is definitely in a poor state right now but I don't think that has to do with it being free.
