WoW vs. GW2 vs. FFXIV -- help me decide. T_T

So, I'm currently looking at these three games for something to do when the people I play League with aren't on. I enjoy raiding, sometimes PvP, and quests / events / fights / whatnot that involve more than just killing things.

With WoW, I played for 12 years, only ever taking a break when the 6.0 WoD prepatch hit, and made all my favorite classes two buttons. I heard a lot of good things about Legion and went back, but the game is still absolutely braindead. Been doing heroics and mythics, and I don't think I've even died once that wasn't a wipe. The game is just so stupidly easy, but I love the lore that's everywhere, and the art style isn't hyper realistic. I haven't tried the raids yet -- people tell me they're fun, but I'm suspecting it's more braindead content like everything else in this expansion.

  • + Lots of lore

  • + Lots to do

  • + Nostalgia

  • + Good art style

  • - Community worse than League's

  • - Stupidly easy

  • - Boring rotations

GW2, I bought when it first came out. Never played GW1, but I heard amazing things about it. As far as GW2 goes, I loved the combat system, and while the art style was too realistic and dark, it wasn't bad. There was a lot to do in the beginning, but then I ran out of things to do, and got bored. Fractals came out, and they were fun for a while, but then they got old too (there were like 5 back then). The lore was good (more narrative than WoW), the combat was fun, but everything was really easy still. Then raids came out, and I went back. The first wing was super fun, but no one pugged anything, and the people that did were God awful.

  • + Really fun combat.

  • + Really good PvP.

  • + Good story.

  • - No Trinity, limited mechanics.

  • - Not much to do.

  • - Too easy.

  • - No one pugs.

FFXIV is the one I've played the least, and never made it to max level. But, I hear it's absolutely amazing, and the end-game is great. There's a ton of story, the graphics are realistic but not dark, and the crafting is actually fun. What really turned me off is the 2.5s GCD and very simplistic rotations (which people tell me is a load of BS, especially at max level). I've been thinking of giving it another shot, but I donno.

  • + Beautiful.

  • + Great story.

  • + Fun crafting.

  • + Chocobos.

  • - 2.5s GCD.

  • - Simple rotations.

I've also tried Wildstar, Mabinogi, Maplestory (way back when), Runescape (even more way back when), ESO, SWTOR, BnS, TERA, Trove and a lot of other MMOs, but WoW always trumped them in the early days. Now that WoW isn't so good anymore, these other games just aren't enjoyable either, or get old quickly despite being fun. Are there any games out there that have good PvE, passable PvP (I like objective-based more than arena type), and a good story? Need something that will last a long time, so not a console game or a one-off Steam game.

I used to play FF14 a ton, only stopped playing because I pay for XBL too. I didn't have any MMO experience till FF14. What drew me in was its awesome art style and FF setting. Yeah the rotations are lame in the earlier levels but once you get higher it gets more fun. Ninja and Black Mage were probably the most interesting for me. I say give it another shot and level a character to at least 50 and judge it then, because that was the highest you could get without Heavensward. The max right now is 60 and a new expansion is coming soon.

Wow is the best MMORPG long standing history the really only downside to it is the dated engine

GW2....although you might hate the class balance in PvP(or in general), I know I do, but it's still a great game. Lots of lore, great scenery, cool classes and quaggans!!!

Just to note however, rotations vary depending on class you're playing. If you play something like an Engi, it will require some serious keyboard gymnastics.

The answer is always to join Black Desert Online.

But of your choices, I really enjoyed GW2 the most. Love WvW and exploring the world. The story they keep adding to is nice and the artstyle is fantastic. I just really like all the little things like the jumping puzzles and stuff.

Wow is fun, but can get boring real quick because WOW basically has a issue where every thing is simplistic for the casual gamer,

FFXIV is fun because it has a indept story line and you only have to make 1 character that can be EVERY job and EVERY class in the game, so you're not having to re roll a new character and play through the same crap every time you want to try out a new class or job.

never played GW2

person I love Wow cause wow had pvp and battle grounds but man did it suck having to play the low lvl zones every single time I wanted to try a different class. and they kinda ruined their raiding system via making it super casual friendly

FFXIV is great cause its super rewarding and you can lvl up solo quing quests, or you can go find parties for zone quests and bosses. or you can just do dungeons. in their world queue. end game content and gear looks great and is quick and easy but adds challenge. and the story line is epic. you really get in touch and enjoy the feels

Also ffxiv is 4 dollars cheeper

Warframe is good if you just want to waste your life. It's pretty good at that.

Guild Wars 1 has a way better story than Guild Wars 2 (at least that's my opinion), partially because it's already completed. (Just don't start in Elona, except you like to grind for progress). But: You can neither jump nor swim. Otherwise, the overall game is pretty awesome.

Yet i bet you have not defeat a mythic +10 in time, hit at least 2.2k rating in arena PvP or at least kill 1 raid boss in mythic.

Probably if you stoped being so casual you would actually find a challenge.
