When you realize Smite updates more than League

Smite has been around for a lot less than league, but they update their champions, maps, and release more content faster than league. I just wish Riot took the time and dedication that Smite had for some of their things, especially maps/champions. The Crystal Scar is absolutely outdated and needs an update really bad. Riot should have rotational game modes. We have enough by now to at least have like one a month. Better mastery system, including getting specialized skins based on how mastered you are of the champion.

I'm not saying one is better other the other, I just wish Riot put in some stuff that Smite has. Riot just threw in dominion, and completely forgot about it. Maybe I'm just seeing this wrong, or maybe it's because Riot has to work on actual lore and smite does not.

Tldr:Update dominion, add better mastery system, and please add a game rotation system.

I'd presume it's because it's new that it gets so many updates. If you look at it from a wider perspective, sure League has slowed down, but it's definitely not slow for a game that's been out for 6 years

I cant imagine riot actually going back and updating any maps no money to be made there

Smite doesn't have half the playerbase League does. And their designers don't work on half as many projects or put half the time and effort into improving and updating the game.

To be fair, Smite is newer. They have all these ideas they can work with and the ground work is already laid out for them in that the gods are already conceived for them. It is easier to start up and build up champions whereas Riot has to do everything from scratch. In the long run Smite will run out of gods to incorporate while League of Legends is only limited by their creativity.

That being said, Riot is definitely getting complacent. They are the #1 MOBA in the world in popularity and the cashflow is coming in from all the skin sales. They don't feel a need to improve their product and are simply keeping the status quo and every so often checking up on the competition. I know Chromas came about in response to some other MOBA having a similiar feature. League of Legends has much greater potential but I think you're right, the people behind Smite are better at what they do in every single way.

When you realize smite is a much newer game, and therefore has more things they can update more easily

Not that it's always good.

For example they completely stripped one God of identity, except for the name.

I think that due to the fact that Smite has a much smaller player-base, this creates a much easier time updating everything. Changing/updating stuff in Smite doesn't require as much cautiousness since there are less people to please, and many less facets in the game to actually worry about (not that many, but a few).

please, I wish riot never updates. Clients and patching are shit and buggy unlike Smite and steam

This is an F2P game and company. If it doesn't directly make them money, they don't give a damn about it, unfortunately. So, while it'd be nice for sure, it's not going to happen. : /
