This season it took me about 700 to get to gold. :P

Now my goal is plat, since I have plenty of time. So what should I expect in gold? More people who don't know how to play the game, or real teams?

Honestly, in my experience, Gold is the friendliest AND most competitive elos there is, it's an enjoyable experience in it, so enjoy the climb, it isn't at all like Silver where you're desperate to get out.

Expect more of Silver but people actually know how to throw now instead of doing it on accident.

It is a lot better than silver in a lot of areas but don't get too cozy with the people because no matter what it's solo queue and you cant trust your teammates. They're the ones trying to bait you into the 1v5 with cake. Trust.
