Rioter commented on Solo queue. Confirmed cancelled?
As seen in this post
Player: "Dynamic queue utterly killed the competitive aspect of this game for me, not because i'm a pro - but because I wanted to prove that I can show how good I am, whether that's bronze or challenger. Taking away the solo aspect of the game just kills the motivation for me because I feel like I have no accurate measure of how good I actually am or a feeling of total disadvantage if I play alone."
Rioter: "Yes, we moved the goalposts on what your rank means and it definitely doesn't measure your individual contribution as much as last season. That sucks for primarily solo players, and we want to have a way to measure your individual skill. We thought that could be a dedicated solo queue, but with more data we don't think it would be a good experience for either queue. So we want a different system to measure this that doesn't involve splitting the pool of players to match make with.
Wish I had more details to share, but there's nothing we are ready to talk publicly about and I'm not directly involved so I wouldn't be the right person to speak about it. :("
Essentially Riot says "We don't care about Solo Players rank", which is a huge portion of the community actually its every person in the community, people are perfectly fine playing ranked Solo, but people are not fine playing Dynamic Queue. Everyone would be fine without it, we had basically Solo Queue for 5 years, no one complained other then the occasional remove duos post.
Dynamic Queue was a forced change with zero input from the community on whether we pref'd Dynamic Or Solo Queue, its just "We don't care if you wanted to give feedback, soooo heres DYNAMIC QUEUE!!!" - Lyte
Both queues don't need to exist, Dynamic Queue never needed to exist in the first place, you could have very well introduced the Idea and asked the community if they wanted it. But nope forced a change and gave a zero input. This isn't like balance where player input has little value as most of its biased, this is a game feature, if your audience doesn't like it, why the fuck do you have it?
