Some questions about MMOs.

So, when the people I play League with aren't on, the game just isn't as much fun. No game is really all that fun alone, but League is just so infuriating that I just can't be bothered to deal with it.

Problem is, I don't have any other games to play. So, when they all get off, I just kind of look around the internet reading the League forums, or reading forums for other games, or something. I want some other game I can play and actually enjoy and have fun with. Console games or Steam games usually only last a few hours before I beat them, so I need something longer term. I played MMOs before League, so maybe that would do it.

I loved WoW for 12 years, and then WoD came out and ruined it. I've heard great things about Legion, and I went back to try it, but all of the classes I used to enjoy are now about 2-3 buttons, and the fights are as easy as they come. Are the raids actually enjoyable?

I enjoyed GW2, and played it for a while, but the combat was really repetitive back then (fractals were released a week or two before I quit), and there just wasn't enough for me to do. I heard they're getting into raiding -- are they any good?

I tried FFXIV, but the combat was just so boring... 1>2>3>4>1>2>3>4>1>2>3>4> on a 2.5s GCD... it got old really fast. Is it any better later on in the game?

I tried Wildstar and loved it, but the combat got old after a while, and the playerbase was REALLY small, so I never got to do much raiding. Is it still alive?

I donno. I just want something I can actually enjoy again. Are there any MMOs worth playing anymore? I enjoy raiding, dungeons, good stories, and battleground-like PvP.

I've personally always felt at home in Trion games. Rift (pre-f2p) was perhaps my favorite Mmo experience. The game is well designed with a rather immersive story arc. Im not entirely sure how the game stacks up now as they've released several new expansions lately. The main downside is the paygate to unlock all of the new specs they release with each pack. While they aren't required to enjoy the whole game ( the expansions themselves are free, but the specs are exclusively the standard ones iirc.)

I was also a fan of their community. Even the "elitist" players i ran into and raided with back in college were some out the nicest players I have run into in nearly 2 decades of gaming
