No. I am a physical therapist who happens to specialize in treatment to patients after a bariatric surgery (stomach reduction) to lose weight. And I am aware of every problem they face, and the worst is not the physical ones but the social ones they have to deal with every day with comments like these. Fatphobia is real. It is a "socially acceptable" prejudice that our society perpetuates because people believe that it is "for the own good of fat people." Me, as a professional, can tell you that guilt, insults, shame, social pressure and negative comments about fatness not only don't help to make them lose weight, but it make it worse. Harassment can lead to depression. Depression can lead to eating disorders. While those people who are not ashamed of their bodies and have support and love and a healthy environment have a higher success during the weight loss.

So no. I am not fat. But it doesn't matter if I am or not. You are still being a jerk.

I'm sorry that you can't understand simple things. I stated "success" in their weight loss goals. Not that weight loss is a success. If you have a goal, there is failure and there is success (and other things in the middle that are not necessarily good or bad) while trying to achieve it. I'm sorry that you don't understand the whole complexity of a multifactorial condition as obesity and you decide to judge based on your limited knowledge and prejudices.
