I feel like we should just ban every support that's not Annie or Taric

At least, that's how it feels at this point. Everything feels completely sub-par against Annie or Leona. Sona, Janna, etc. all get shat on Annie in lane because if you get anywhere near her quite long spell range she and her carry just nuke the hell out of you. No dodging, no minion blocking, no counterplay of any sort. You just die. Then late game she becomes an second AP carry and your entire time just gets stunned and nuked repeatedly. I'm honestly at wits end here, I can't seem to ever win against a support Annie unless the player is absolute trash.

Why did I include Taric? Because the other team needs something to pick if everything else is banned.

get really good at thresh and watch annie and taric pee themselves.

I think the problem here is that mage supports can 1v1 when fed.... buf if a support sona gets soooooo fed its not even funny and tries to 1v1 another adc... they will probably still have a very tough time in a 1v1.... they NEED allies and the gold that goes to them is more of a waste than it has ever been :p

Or you could just ban Annie? Or pick an alternate style bot lane to combat that issue. Or take cleanse if you really have to. Or Zyra, who is still plenty viable and has a long range AA range to poke safely from, plus hard CC of her own.

Another idea to counteract the support ap carry is to pick a support with a lot of crowd control. Soraka is great against Annie as she can silence her and heal back any damage annie manages to dish out. Also if you are having trouble with her stuns just build a tenacity item. Most tenacity items reduce stun duration by 35% which is a lot off of annie's measly 2 second stun.

For me, sona can poke annie safely because sona's hotboxes are weirdly off and you actually have more range than you think.

Or, go with a good Janna or Xerath, both will outdamage and outdistance an Annie by lvl 5. Then they annoy the @#$@# out of her, and often kill her. Those first few lvls are a pain tho.
