Feral Flare and Baron

Well....the item is all nice and good, but i would like to see it nerfed a tad against vs Baron - it´s just too strong early on, especially the health sustain. Making an early Baron relatively low risk, especially if you´re already snowballing.

To take a baron with Feral Flare early, the jungler must have completely ignored the lanes. What did the enemy jungler do? And where is he while the jungler is attempting a solo baron?

Also, in lategame the extra 110-130 magic damage on hit barely matters when your adc has 600 damage on critical strikes.

If you get of some good early gnaks and finish your flare 15-20minutes you can do a ~25min baron without losing any health, even on a champ with no sustain besides the flare...which leads indeed to a low risk, high reward situation for the team that is already ahead. And I think Baron should never be low risk except you aced the opponent team beforehand.

You don't nuke the baron. What is the enemy doing while you attempt baron?

defending lanes vs your slightly ahead team as it´s not hard to 2man Baron with FF...or you just killl 1 and then happily take baron as you won´t lose live there and know they can´t 4v5 you even if Baron helps out at min 20 now. So basically like it had been...but with less risk for the baron takers involved, which is a bad thing in my opinion. Baron should always be a high-risk objective, especially early on (every baron before 30min is early as it is).

So you're telling me that early game junglers should be forgiven even if they fail to capitalize in the game phase that sees them dominating the rest of the champion pool. Is that right?

Because otherwise I see no reason how the team with a jungler who didn't neglect the lane to farm is behind and he can't even afford to fight a jungler with an item that is still not effective against champions as any other jungler item.

maybe read it again? I´m just stateing that FF right now snowballs far to hard due to allwoing for really early more or less risk free Barons once you´re ahead.

I read it , and I think that the advantage it gives is fair due to the early game investment and efforts it requires.

And I repeat, the jungler is not immortal, so if the enemy team cannot contest a early baron (considering the extra damage the baron deals to the attackers so early in the game), I think the problem resides in how the early game was played , rather than the feral flare itself, and than any other strategies that would had capitalized in early game, would have made the game even MORE ONESIDED.

Let's say, you are against a Yi that didn't gank for 15 minutes and you are 2/7 total. What would have happened if you were against Elise?

BTW: 2 people with lifesteal can alternatively tank the baron and taking him down early. Lifesteal OP?

I think there´s a missconception here...you can buy FF and still gank a lot. Absolutely no problem, as you´ll clear camps faster than they spawn and a good gank is still worth the investment even if you miss 1-2camps in the meantime. And lifesteal scales with dmg delt....so early on lifesteal doesn´t give you too much sustain, while FF is a flat amount. That´s a huge difference.

Well, Feral Flare grants 10 healing. When I don't take Feral Flare on autoattackers, I usually get Hydra or BT. Which means 75 extra damage with 12% lifesteal, or 100 damage with 18% lifesteal.

I can hardly see how that sustains less than a Flare, considering that any autoattackers take even more damage and armor pen.

BT costs twice as much gold as FF and you need to stack it up (so if we stack FF a bit the heal goes up by a flat amount outcaling BT quite quickly in that regard). And I certainly don´t complain about a stage in the game when more than 2items are finished. Lifesteal gets ridiculous on ADs later on in the game, we all know that - but in this case a single item for 1,6k gold brings down the mightiest objective in the game all by it´s own bruteforce.

It still requires the enemy team to lose a 5v4 early game , so it's a huge gamble. But yeah, perhaps the reward could be a little too much higher than the risk. But not that much, as long as early game champions are around .

It would surely be OP if Riot went through with the pantheon/lee sin changes, but they ducked them out of fear.
