KSing, what is up with that?

Dragonheart NA·1/3/2014, 6:25:59 PM·3 votes·606 views

Now I understand what KSing is, but why are people so bent on accusing people of KSing and getting into arguments over it, unless it is truly intentional which I be 80% of the time it is not?

If I am laning as an adc and my support uses a little too much power and kills someone, so be it. Things like that happen and I am just happy to have an opponent removed from the lane so we can push harder. Let me ask this, you are in the heat of a team fight, should you worry about KSing and not securing a kill? I have many times in the team fight pulled away so the adc or another champ can get the kill and they end up getting killed. Then its the supports fault. In one team fight I was Karma and used my R + E to shield the whole team which also gives out a small damage shield around Karma. I got a double kill from that and my team accused me of KSing.

Sometimes in the heat of battle things happen. Maybe I can better judge when a KS is about to happen as I get better, but I am unranked and still learning and trying my best not to intentionally KS, but to some people that does not seem to matter.

Thoughts?

Whenever someone on my team claims "KS!!!!", I just say "Yup, kill secured" and move on.

Not much more you can do. Too many times I haven't done that last AA and the kill gets away. Too frustrating.

I Have a strong dislike for "ksing" due to the fact- Some people only do it to irritate other players, I've played Dr. Mundo midlane, throughout the entire game I only got 3 kills and 0 deaths, over 30 assists. The person continually "ksing" me was an unskilled (I use this term only because she ran into 1v5s) Evelyn. Sadly we lost the game due to Evelyn saying "I need these kills because you can't do enough damage." At this point I a shook my head and couldn't do anything to stop her from "ksing" our underfed Ezreal and Udyr. This is the type of "ksing" that I find offensive.

There a few different schools of thought on this. If you are supporting or using a utility jungler it's usually better to back off when the kill is 100% assured and let the laner get the kill. You get assist gold and they get a distinct advantage against their opponent. The more advantages the more more won lanes. Then there is the group like you said, it's 5v5 there is no such thing as KSing. I agree to an extent but there are times it is best to let the kill go to the person who made the kill possible but, this really depends. If you come in after someone has put an enemy down to 100hp and come in and blow a skill to secure the kill that is not really cool cuz at that point your teammate has put in all the effort and it isn't fun to see a Nidalee throw a spear and steal a kill you have worked hard to secure (just an example). When I am solo q I go by the motto that I have to carry best I can because I cannot know if my teammates are good enough to do it. In that case I try to secure as many kills I can without coming in at the last second to take a kill from my teammate who was dueling and about to win. If my teammates prove to be good that is the point I stop trying to boss hog all the kills I can. TL/DR Too many different ways to look at it but really there isn't such a thing as KSing. Look at the pro games, their supports take kills sometimes and no one rages same with jungles etc. Hope that helps :)

Especially now with the fact that assist and assist streaks give more gold than they did before KS'ing has been something I've personally haven't had said in a game for awhile now. That being said I do apologize for a clutch kill that I could have easily given away if I'm a tanky jungle or support (damnit item 3068 ) but that's so hard to do if I'm on the other end of the situation I don't cry KS, I congratulate them on their hilariously close kill. End of the day, damage is damage and a kill is a kill. As long as I at least got the assist idc very much XD

Yup, its not a kill steal, its a kill secured.

I only see ks arguments for the newer players of league that barely hit level 30. In ranked i've never seen it.

Ethri1/5/2014, 7:32:04 PM2 votes

I personally find it very difficult and annoying not to ks. You never know when you are chasing someone just out of range with 100hp left and their barrier comes up just in time because the support didn't want to take the kill.

As Lulu I generally try to start off with my Q and hit a few autos before using E. As a result E is still on them when they are running away with 100 health left. Do I Q and take the kill or let my ADC waste flash to get it?

Its refreshing to hear some of these comments. Wish I played more with some of you! I still have a lot to learn to become better and maybe one day played ranked. For now I am just doing my best to ignore all the negativity, when I started playing I did not think I would run into so much lol.... Thankyou all for your comments.

So long as my support isn't flashing into their tower to auto them 1 last time and try to get the kill while my ultimate on Cait is already cast and charging toward them, have at it.

Flybeezy1/4/2014, 1:17:42 AM2 votes

Although 'Kill Stealing' does happen, most people do not intend for them to receive the last hit. In your circumstance many supports actually struggle in giving the ADC the kill. On the plus side it is common, and the phrase KS is overused. I would focus on your own mechanics until and as your MMR goes up, the use of the term KS will drop, and you will lessen the amount of times you yourself actually do take the last hit on a champion. Until then just ignore the KS'ing comments, if necessary apologize but realize that the term itself is used far too much and you are attempting to improve.

TheFakeMackie1/3/2014, 11:41:36 PM2 votes

there is actually a downside to taking kills that people seem to be ignoring, and that is the idea that the gold and experience from a kill is utilized a lot more by say a vayne, then by a soraka. Because obviously some player needs to be able to carry the game (not necessarily the adc) the focus of the team should be on getting that person farm and kills whenever possible. Now that is not to say that that person is the only one that should get kills, it is just that your team will have the greatest chance of victory if they do get fed.

jmaishere2/6/2014, 4:30:16 AM1 votes

the problem isn't securing the kill, but rather when people can readily give the kill to someone else who needs to get fed, which in turn makes the late game more of a pain due to flying accusations about how the carry is useless. although there's also revenge ksing...which i've done before when ppl are jerks and steal my blue, or intentionally leave me to die, etc.

The Holy See1/3/2014, 7:01:15 PM1 votes

when you play with another player, killing is the best thing. No matter who get it, cause you are win the game.

It irks me every once in a while, but I do the same thing, so I can't get too upset :-p

It depends on the person itself on the "KSing" factor. For an ADC it can get quite annoying if the support is taking all the kills, even if it is an accident. I main support myself and I have "KSed" my ADC more than a few times, but never on purpose. Because I main Sona support (He mains Sivir when being my ADC), he doesn't get that upset with me because her Q is a little slow.

Keep in mind it also depends on the lane you're in. If you're top lane it can get annoying if your Jungler likes to "KS" you. The same also goes for midlane. Though, keep in mind that you have to take your team champion's health in mind. If they want the kill, but don't want to risk an early (or even late) death, they may back off and let you or another champion take it and get the assist.

In team fights I don't think it matters as much because you can't aim for one person alone. That's--where I find at least--the most "KSing" happening when I play with my team.

All in all though, I find it mostly depends on the **person **and ***their *** feelings about the subject itself.

i like to play pvp (3v3) big fan of the twisted treeline, kill stealing in a pvp match can affect the outcome on a game, if your bot lane constantly comes up when you and your team mate are perfectly capable of killing and securing kills, you are loosing farm, which helps build you up. I played a game less than 3 hours ago where this happened and when the bot lane actually quit the game we were so underpowered they actually turned the game around. so ks'ing can effect. just pointing this out.

I main Amumu jungle and I hate it when i have red buff, i gank, we almost kill him, my red buff takes the kill and they yell "STOP KSING NOOB" I mean really it was not my fault that my buff took the kill!

Scibbles1/4/2014, 10:30:02 AM1 votes

After doing a so called "KS" I say "Eat a cookie" then walk away. If they say they are going to report me I ill say the exact same thing as earlier. EAT A GOSH DANG COOKAI

Brâin1/5/2014, 4:54:04 PM1 votes

Ppl who claim ks its kill secure :I ,and its never a kill steal so i would say that a team fight is a team fight ,and in team fights or chases or any type of kill is never a kill steal.

MackleDoge1/3/2014, 6:36:37 PM1 votes

League is 5 against 5, there is no such thing as kill stealing. Simple.
