Newbe question on Targeting Allies and Enemies

During a teamfight when everyone is bunched together and moving around, is there an easy way to target allies for heals etc, and an easy way to target enemy champs? I am finding it very hard to target the right person in situation like these. Any tips would be appreciated.

Yes, at level 30 i still consider myself a newbe lol. A friend told me not to be concerned about normal games till 30. And since I have not played a lot I am finding them very challenging and fast paced lol. Maybe by season 5 I will feel comfortable with ranked games, but for season 4 I just plan on working on normal games and learning my characters better and trying not to be hated too much....

part of being a good player is know where your cursor is at all times, and being able to follow what is happening in a team fight. Just takes time. But sounds like you have a good plan on getting better, just do yourself a favor and play draft pick. Good practice for counterpicking and typically better players.

Honestly I like your drive, do you use hotkeys I find it a lot easier if you use those and if you press alt and then a spell you cast it on yourself

practice makes perfect! don't play ranked till you are confident in your play style, and can fill at least three roles. There is nothing wrong with taking your time and making sure you are ready to win!

I just found out you can target an ally by putting the cursor over their picture on the left side and then casting a spell. That is kind of cool and should help me with playing supports, especially Soraka.

I personally feel like none of these comments addresses your point. A better example is when someone like Teemo is hiding behind a fully-stacked Cho'Gath. Best of luck hitting that tiny little guy.

They have worked before on making people easier to target, but it can still be tricky. Just about everyone can tell you that they've accidentally cast spells on minions instead of the champion they were aiming for. Happens all the time.

Honestly, there's no easy way. You can click on the pictures on the left (but this only applies to allies), but LoL is too fast-paced for that to be really useful when trying to navigate between movement and spellcasting.

I've thought a lot about this problem, but I can't come up with a solution that doesn't drastically alter the gameplay of LoL. The best advice I can give you is to keep your cool in every situation. Taking the extra .2 seconds to make sure you hit the right target is better than missing your target.

If you want to support, aim for champions like Sona that handle the healing by automatically selecting the nearest champion with the lowest health. You don't need to target with her spells. Nami's heal will bounce off enemy champs to nearby low-health champs, too, so you can damage and heal without worrying too much about where the heal is going to go.

Just keep playing and you'll figure out what works best for you and the way you play within the LoL settings.
