Is there a deadline to when you have to complete your 10 Ranked Placement Games? I am still fairly new and would like to get a couple hundred normal wins under my belt before I go ranked, and also make sure I can play every role comfortably. I may not be ready to season 5 and that is ok, but if I feel I am ready mid season can you still play ranked and get placed in a league?
no rush to finish your 10 placement games if I remember right. I don't know if the games you have played though will influence your ranked reset status come the start of season 4 though.
And yes you can play and get placed in ranked midway (or anytime you want) through season. That is what I did this past season (season 3). I started ranked back in June if I remember right so practically half way through the season.
You can do your placement matches at your leisure anytime post level 30. I would recommend playing a lot of normals and getting experience that way before doing them however, I know I did my placements way to early (still ended up in Bronze II, so not entirely atrocious). The only restriction is that I think if you play say seven of those matches and then don't finish out the rest of the 10 (i.e. the three remaining) it might reset you or just count them as losses as far as determining your placement after a certain amount of time.
Short answer: as long as you finish that 10th game before the season is over, you're good to go.
