Nidalee Buffs

Can someone explain what exactly the purpose of reworking Nidalee was? They just made her absurdly stronger to the point where she's probably going to be permabanned.

Stronger? They moved power out of spear and into cougar. They also did some long-overdue quality of life on pounce/swipe.

Have you even played her after the changes?

They took power from her spears, and moved it to the rest of her kit, so she's not a walking spear-chucking healer. That said, imo her cougar/ trap damage was overbuffed, and should be nerfed a bit.

Her spears are so much harder to hit, and now you really need to think about placing traps. That said, if it becomes a problem the best thing riot could do is either make them slightly more visible or reduce the time they stay on the field, so a trap you placed two minutes ago doesn't get you a kill now. She's not teemo :P

The purpose of reworking her was to make her healthy, aka, fun to play with/against.

Before, while it was tons of fun to play nid, playing against her just wasn't fun. No matter what the circumstances, when a single basic ability with a short CD and low mana cost chunks you for 75% of your hp, it just doesn't feel fair.

That's not to say Nid was OP - she wasn't, because her only other damage was melee, and she was squishy AF - but she was anti-fun to play against.

Nid was also anti-fun to play with: because she had NO teamfight potential, you were forced into sitting around and waiting for her to land a spear, or getting engaged on and feeling like you're in a 4v5.

####tl;dr she may or may not be OP now. If she is, Riot can nerf her. If she's not, they'll leave her be. But either way, she has more to do than chuck spears and run away.
