it looks like we lose the little purple wolf when devourer converts to sated devourer
the little wolf that follows you around the map is a form of much needed companionship and therapy for dealing with the stress of teammates that can't see anything beyond their own lane and are constantly blaming the jungler for all their problems
please let us keep the little purple wolf

I can't....I just....I can't second this enough. even if only for URF mode next year or something. I know some folks may not get it, but c'mon, Riot. You know it'd be good, and you've never been averse to doing the occasional funny.
Seriously though, I have to second the OP's opinion. It's a fun thing and hopefully there's no reason not to keep it up. If nothing else big gold wolfie is a great counterplay/visual cue for 'oh ****! He's maxed his Devourer stacks!'

People would have to either know you have devourer or look at your items in order to see if you're going to deal the on-hit effects twice. A gold wolf that transformed into a copy of your champ when you attack would be awesome

Instead of phantom hit, the wolf leaps at the target and swipes its claws, and stays there until the champion stops attacking the target for 2 seconds or moves away +1000 units. 4
Have it bark occasionally when moving, and growl/bark angrily when attacking. When his champion dies, the wolf whimpers then circles the champions body once, whimpers again, then disappears.

I'm pretty sure this is precisely WHY they are making it stop stacking. Infinite stacking has a lot of game health issues (how many times does nasus want to group?). Making an infinite stack ITEM makes those issues occur on every champ who builds the item. Now, there's a point when the item tells you, "Hey, time to stop stacking and focus on finishing the game." It also allows them to budget the item's slot power better.

Unless I have a glowing gold wolf tail or aura or something indicating that it doesn't give me that sensation at all. Rather it feels like my item ate the wolf, and that's horribleee
