Not sure if we could put Malphite at top lane. But with new jungle tank item and rise of auto-atackers(marksmans) you think malphite can counter that meta ?

Rammus is a much better counterpick to Auto-Attackers than Malphite.
Not all Marksman are Auto-Attackers. Champions such as Ezreal, Lucian, and Corki are Caster Marksmen that rely mostly on their abilities for damage while Caitlyn, Vayne, and Draven rely mostly on their Auto-Attacks.
Malphite will always be a pain for marksmen. His entire kit is perfect for debuffing them and pounding their faces. It's just a matter of getting him a little mana and defense so he can engage without fear.
Do try building a ravenous hydra on him at least once. It's startlingly effective.
