So SMITE has Team RWBY skins now available, but LoL can't even get a tiny reference?

Sounds like Riot doesn't want to appeal to those of us who like RWBY.

Vi wearing a Yang Xiao Long skin would be so crazy awesome.

Hi-Rez and RoosterTeeth have had a sort-of partnership before, which is why they could do this. Smite is also a lot more allowing in what it's skins do (in part because of the 3d nature of the game).

League and Riot have historically not done partnerships. They have things that are inspired by, sure, but nothing flat out based on.

Those are more than just skins, they completely redo the appearance to look like those characters, have their voice actors, animations that try to bring them to the game style, ect. SMITE is more open to things like that in skins but Riot wants their skins to have a resemblance to the characters we already know. So they would never do anything that deep.

Along with the fact that HiRez has a partnership with Rooster teeth, so they were able to bring those characters into SMITE like that. So, Riot having anything like this is very unlikely.

I wonder if Riot would ever collab with someone and make themed skins but then it means that companies licenced look is in League, they would get part of the profits.

... No matter how much people want a Gambit Twisted Fate, I don't think it'll happen.

I think league characters are polarizing enough by now. it would be cool for some sorta guest character or reference tho

It's pretty evident by this point Riot has no interest in allowing crossovers with their ip. It's understandable they'd want to keep the game purely their own content as once that boundary is crossed the game is harder to take seriously. I think smite just looks like a clown fiesta with its cosmetics.

I personally want more skins themed around a existing IP, was hoping for that with the shonen skins but we didn't get that.

Sadly the closest we have gotten were those rap skins a patch ago where riot worked with a horrble company like actually horrible.

Personally I want a partnership with pokemon for pokemon skins.
