Zoe's Sleep effect bypasses Morgana's shield, and can't be cleansed with Mikael's? No, Riot. NO.

Please update Zoe's Sleep CC so that it gets countered by Morgana's Black Shield and Mikael's Crucible. This is needed both so Zoe can be more reliably countered and so that it follows the same rules as other CC's (CONSISTENCY!).

You have to cast it before they get drowsy. Its advertised as 2-part CC, but works as a 1-part CC for functional purposes.

They either need to make mikaels/black shield work on the 2nd part, or call it what it is...

"Super broken forever CC" would be an appropriate name, I think.

Catastrophic25 votes

Well if it works like a 1 part CC why can't my GP Orange cleanse it? Super broken is right

Starcraft243ver36 votes

You know something is broken when even GP's oranges can't cleanse it.

GG death is broken

Hahahahyena2 votes

thats why oranges heal, they prevent death [slayer-jinx-wink]

RaxorX1 votes

I've seen a GP orange remove the sleep though.

Catastrophic2 votes

Yea, and that just adds to the point cause here's the problem right now: EITHER drowsy + sleep is considered 1 instance of CC: which means that if I cleanse drowsy with orange the sleep should be cleansed too. OR drowsy + sleep are each 1 separate instance of cc: which means if I use Morgana shield after drowsy, the person shielded doesn't sleep.

But the way it works on live, GP oranges can cleanse either the drowsy slow, or the sleep; while Morgana's Shield doesn't cleanse anything unless you put it on the person BEFORE the skill shot hits them.

How is that any different from anyone else's CC and Morg's shield though? If i land lux's root does that mean morg's Shield should be able to break it after landing it?

Catastrophic1 votes

Zoe's bubble slows you over time, then after a delay makes you sleep.

Now the question is : Is the slow (drowsy) effect a standalone effect? OR is it part of the sleep effect?

If it's part of the sleep effect, then a GP orange should cleanse both.

If it's a standalone effect, then a Morgana shield should not block the slow, yet it should stop the sleep.

Baka Red1 votes

There is no Spoo.. Slow.

"Sleepy Trouble Bubble

Cost: 80 Mana Range: 800

Causes the target to become drowsy, then fall asleep. The first source of damage that breaks the sleep is doubled, up to a cap.

Dropkick a bubble that deals 60/100/140/180/220 (+40% Ability Power) magic damage, lingering as a trap if it hits nothing. The bubble's range is extended when flying over a wall. After a delay, the victim falls asleep for 2 seconds. Attacks and spell hits break sleep but deal double damage, up to 60/100/140/180/220 (+40% Ability Power) bonus true damage. When an enemy falls asleep, Sleepy Trouble Bubble's cooldown is reduced by 10/15/20/25/30%."

No Slow to be seen here. So there is only one CC effect and that is the delayed Sleep (not Stun, you won't wake from Stun by getting damaged. You wake up from the Sleep.) So Morgana Shield must be there to stop the initial hit to be able to block the sleep from affecting the target.

Edit; but when watching video of Zoe E, it apparently does slow the target by the end of the drowsy effect. I hate it when people are lazy with their description. Sorry about that. It seems to be quite short slow though (quarter second maybe) before the target goes to sleep. Hardly a separate effect in my eyes, but I am just one of the anynous regular players.

Catastrophic2 votes

Yea, that's what I'm saying, if it's only 1 CC effect, then 1 fresh Gangplank orange should cleanse it. Which right now it doesn't. And if not, if it's 2 CCs, then the Morgana shield should be able to prevent the second one before it procs. Which right now it doesn't.

This is the truth right here. No reason why she should get the both of best worlds.

AMYS GRAVE5 votes

Mikael's would suggest it is not a 1-part CC.

SEKAI31 votes

This is even more ridiculous given it's probably already one of the strongest CC in the game judging from its extreme effect lasting time, zoning, and potentially ridiculous range, but then someone though it'd be a great idea to also make it unblockable.

What can I say, CertainlyT?

Hong Kong Annie9 votes

But it's not unblockable. If you black shield or MC the drowsy effect then you don't fall asleep. The sleep erect works like a debuff and the drowsy works like a cc.

Muzét26 votes

Black shield shouldn't cleanse. If you were in Pokemon it would be like using a Chesto berry on a Pokemon who got hit by Yawn but before he's affected by sleep...

kile1478 votes

Mikaels should though, but I saw a Rioter comment on Reddit saying that is probably a bug.

SpecterVonBaren2 votes

My question is, is the OP saying Mikaels won't cleanse the actual sleep CC or just the drowsiness?

Azadethe15 votes

No offense but this is not true unless a bug. I've played both Zoe into Morg and Morg into Zoe. Black Shield works.

darkdill16 votes

It only works if you cast Black Shield before you get Drowsy. If you cast it after, it doesn't work.

PrinceOfStorms54 votes

Yeah, that's because the debuff is already applied. Black Shield doesn't, and shouldn't cleanse debuffs.

Hibeki45 votes

But two functional cc's is not one debuff. Its two.

A slow into a hard CC. They are not the same thing. Putting a blackshield on the slow should prevent the hard cc.

Hong Kong Annie5 votes

That's like saying if you walk into a nunu ult and start getting slowed and then shield yourself the rest of the ult shouldn't slow you

Hibeki23 votes

as far as I know that is how it works. Because it keeps reapplying the slow, not one long slow.

Praetor Notorias1 votes

Not how it works. With morg if you shield before the slow the drowsy doesn't happen. Morg's magic shield only prevents when it's applied and they are a singular effect even if your brain parses it differently. It is still just one single effect.

The Miky not cleansing the sleep is total BS though. That's absolutely the item's purpose.

Hibeki10 votes

The problem is it shouldnt be one single effect. Literally no other effect in the game is like that.

Two separate hard cc's should be two separate effects.

Terchio1 votes

They're not both hard CC's, though? Drowsy is a slowing effect, I think, best I can tell. And that's basically what Morgana does in AoE, no skillshot involved.

I'm not really that mad about the sleep mechanism itself. My irritation is that it's not only powerful CC, but it gives her poke, which should be avoidable, extremely high reliability and damage. Slow-into-stun isn't OP on its own, it's the crazy damage that's tied to it.

For clarity, it makes her Paddle Star deal 800 + 330% AP damage for one single hit of Paddle Star if it knocks into a sleeping unit at maximum range, and makes it almost impossible to dodge. All this at level 9. Are we really mad about the sleep itself?

Hibeki6 votes

The point is that two sources of cc should not be one ability.

Someone made a great example, Latching onto someone with fizz ult, then having black shield on them will still slow them, but prevent the knockup.

Same ability! Its triggered from a debuff! But it works like its supposed to

PrinceOfStorms7 votes

That's like saying that putting a black shield on Vlad ult after it's on you should prevent the damage from happening (beyond the damage shield from morg E)

Hibeki40 votes

Except thats not a crowd control. Stop trying make really obscure and irrelevant examples.

4th3t0s7 votes

Then why did the OP overlap this complaint with summoner 1 /item 3222? Both of which DO remove debuffs as well as CC.

flibitydoo35 votes

how about an actual example?

if you get tagged by a fizz ult, then morg shields you before the shark pops, then from my experiences, you don't get knocked up.

fizz ult is a slow into a knockup. much more comparable

Hibeki19 votes

Fantastic example of why it should work this way.

4th3t0s8 votes

Ok, so the title is misleading as hell; Black Shield has NEVER, nor should it, function as a cleanse.

Owyn12 votes

It's an abstract kind of CC, tenacity-free http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/427/549/b9d.gif

Rinký Dinky12 votes

This post isnt telling the whole truth. Black Shield DOES negate Zoe's CC.

OP is implying morgana's black shield should cleanse DROWSY targets, which is an entirely different discussion

PokladnicaZla2 votes

OP is saying that if you Black Shield an ally affected by drowsy, that asleep part shouldbe negated since it works as a 2 part CC ability, similar to Fizz's R.

Serika Zero9 votes

its not a 2part CC, its a delayed CC.

as in, I hit you with my stun skill shot. And you get stunned 1 minute later. it was codded as a delayed cc as well.

which is why, it makes sense for morg's shield to work the way it does with her sleep.

Skins Project2 votes

Morgana ult still stunz tho..

& I feel that's more applicable because it's more of a delay then a 2 part CC, JUST IMO tho.

E.G. morg ults, if you black shield someone who's been chained onto, the stun still applies.

Terchio11 votes

Black shield blocks new effects, doesn't suppress existing effects. If you're slowed before you shield, you're still slowed as you shield. The sleep is consistent with existing systems with regard to Black Shield.

Mikael's I don't know. I feel like that should work fine, as well as Cleanse and QSS. Are we sure it doesn't work?

Another example for Black Shield basically never happens except in Blind pick mode. If you Black Shield a target effected by Soul Shackles (which requires Morgana on both teams), the target will still be damaged and stunned by Soul Shackles' second proc.

My Waifu Vanilla7 votes

You cannot QSS the drowzy. If you activate QSS while Drowzy you will still get knocked out meaning you have to wait until you fall asleep to hit QSS at which point you are probably already dead anyway. It's a very stupid interaction.

Provengreil3 votes

this may be true, but I have to say as a support main I'm not going to be happy when things down work like they look like they should. In gameplay The drowsy honestly feels less like a "you are already dead " marker and more like rakan's circle before he knocks you up.

KennysDreamGirl4 votes

Morgs shield only works if you cast it before you get hit by the bubble. Now for mikaels idk since nobody ever buys it

ricefly54 votes

it makes sense that black shield cannot cleanse drowsiness.. part 1 does no effect itself*[sg-lulu]*

With GP you can cleanse the drowsy effect with his W, which will prevent the sleep effect. You can cleanse the sleep effect as well.

However, if you cleanse at a certain point after drowsy and before sleeping, it doesn't do anything. Its fucked.
