@riot I'm a jayce main, I'm curious, am I getting nerfed? Cause i need a retouch.

Honest question, Will jayce be nerfed? If so, can we ask what your direction is? And would you be willing to consider my proposed bruiser re-introduction concept

So let's put this into context, I started playing this game years ago, I first tried in 2012 and honestly wasn't a fan, but my buddy showed me jayce in 2013, so i started playing again and paid cash for the champ and the skin, jayce was and is my first main. This is because I just like the champ.

Now if he's weak I don't mind, in all honestly.... I don't really like the meta jayce builds. I don't think lethality is a good match for his kit, I don't agree that it's healthy to be able to Q spam from a screen away with that level of damage on squishies.

I also don't think he needs to be ripped out of the game, actually I think his scaling needs to be redone.

The way I look at it Jayce could be forced into a triforce bruiser pretty easily, by buffing his base ad, changing the way that the melee only passive on steraks works, and by reducing his synergy with GB or DB

How would we reduce that synergy?

Frankly, the answer lays in changing the itemization paths for him, While I'm not sure what to do about mid lane jayce, I do think that giving him a healthy bump in the direction of building more items like item 3156 and less items like item 3147 is a legitimate solution

So here's my idea

first off is base attack damage, why it could be a great tool on jayce, and why it's not a bad idea to use it. If you tweaked the passive on item 3053 to be unlocked by transforming champions regardless of their form, and then buffed jayce's base AD then you would have a frankly overpowered combination at this point, but if you followed this up with a few more changes then we could nail down jayce and bring bruisers back into the meta

changing scaling from bonus ad to base ad on jayce and various fighter champions:

Jayce Camille Riven Fiora Irelia Vi MonkeyKing are all champions who are honestly scaling improperly at the moment, creating wonky interactions with their kits and items like item 3142 item 3147. I think that it would be better to swap various items to granting base attack damage as opposed to bonus attack damage, as these champions are all viable item 3057 users.

The following items, if changed from granting bonus ad to base ad would interact well with sheen

item 3025 item 3071 item 3748 item 3814 item 3156 item 3812 item 3074 item 3004

By doing this you add wayyy too much damage to sheen BUT obviously you can cut that back a bit right? item 3057 from 100-200% scaling down to 25-60% scaling (assuming upgrades) would actually be pretty good for a starting place, of course they would need further tweaks

now scaling the abilities of a good chunk of fighter champs with Base ad as opposed to Bonus AD would also drastically affect the meta, but honestly I think it's for the best

further changes could be made to item 3035 to get it to be adaptive ad, either base or bonus.

altering interactions on the kits of adcs and bonus ad could work to further cement this divide, with the only enemy being crit based adcs, but even they usually build minimal 70% critical strike, so we'd only really see an item or two ever used on ad carries, which would likely scale poorly

Riven stacking hp? are you mad?!?

NO! I'm actually suggesting you make high ability reliant top laners have less damage in a burst, but have a higher assured and consistent output over longer fights, This would essentially keep them classified in a much more managable way, and would keep them differentiated in itemization from both marksmen and assassins.

it is arguably healthier for things to not get shut down in the first three levels of gameplay, and sustained damage is good against tanky cc, but bad against burst. I think it would be a nice tradeoff

"But sustained damage is what ADCs do", yeah that's the new definition, because 800 damage crits 2 times a second is definitely "Low but reliable damage" by today's standards, but it shouldn't be like that. we all know it.
