Towers are just awful now and I hate it.

Unless you got at least one of their inhibs, it doesn't matter how ahead your team is. A single enemy Ace post 30 minutes is essentially GG, with or without baron.

Why zero armor and MR? I thought these things were built out of enchanted stone, not napkins. Once their plating training wheels come off, they may as well not exist. They dissolve faster than cotton candy.

To add, why does it feel like the plating is more beneficial to the enemy team than your own? They're really not that tanky, and the sheer amount of gold advantage the enemy can gain makes early turtling practically unacceptable. Sitting behind your turret is the equivalent to handing your laner's team bags of money, 1k health at a time.

Please. Turret lives matter. I feel like the nexus ones should get plating, honestly.

Oh, and I miss the lasers. :<

I agree, the turret platings are not as "tanky" as they made it seem. Even before the plating falls off, we could get the turret almost to 10-20% hp before the laner could return, without teleport. It is a little stronger than before, but only slightly, because earlier you could destroy it in one wave, while now you just have to wait for a second wave to knock it down.

And its also easy to plan a seige as soon as the turret plating falls down, just by setting up vision around the lowest of the 3 outer towers and roll-over it.

Plating is just free gold at the moment, Which just suits Riot fine seeing as they are catering to the internet cafe crowd now and has a reason to keep games as short as possible

Turrets are mostly psychological defenses because sometimes a team wont go near them even if they ace an enemy team because they believe only baron buff matters, but sadly that usually doesn't work.

I disagree with the turret plating though, the plates are rewarding but the reward diminishes if you have multiple people near it and they countered the gold advantage by cutting the amount of gold everyone gets for taking down turrets. Also those plates are meant to prevent people from taking a turret all in one go and I have yet to see people take all 5 plates down during one siege because they get so tanky that the turret ends up wiping out a minion wave and then that's it. Because of these platings I noticed that the laning phase has overall increased a fair amount to around on average 13 minutes instead of ~4-6 minutes when bot lane gets a four man gank.

I don't think turrets are supposed to be eternal or else the game lasts a lot longer or closing it out becomes much harder. I think making the laning phase last a touch longer is a good step in the right direction. Maybe they should let the inhibitor turrets fire two shots at once or something that would be nice.

Riot wants to keep the average game time down so more people play. I remember a time when I wouldn't play a game of League because I was worried I didn't have the full hour for que, champ select and a 45+ minute match.

They can't cater to everyone and you are not their target.

idk about you but towers are lasting a pretty decent amount of time. Usually the first one goes down at like 10-12 minutes. For reference everyone tends to get their first item at 11 minutes. League is more than laning phase.

Honestly the plating is a welcome change, but 0 AR/MR is a joke

The durability is at best the same assuming the turrets take 0 damage pre 14 minutes. Realistically though its lost hp by that point and is just weaker than the old turrets. Outers are pretty much worthless to defend which is annoying given how the game used to reward keeping those up since it gives you vision and wave control allowing you to claim an advantage in macro by protecting them. It was debatable whether it was worth it before given they could be forced down by certain champs, but its dumb how soft they are.

Like what actual reason is there to need compensation nerfs on towers that Riot recognized were incredibly weak?

I remember a few months back when everyone was complaining about how weak towers are, and Riot went ahead and nerfed the nexus turrets even further, so i doubt they’re going to give them any sort of buff.
