Sometimes I really hate job hunting portals.

I've tried ones such as SnagAJob and ZipRecruiter, both giving me the same issues. I enter the key words for a job position and my location, which should be enough, right?

At first, things are alright. It shows me a job near me exactly as I specified, then I click to apply. This is where things get distasteful.

Often it'll take me to a different page with a window asking for my information and resume. I'll submit it, and then I get an email telling me I've signed up for this program or website I've never heard of before. It doesn't even tell me whether or not my application went through.

Sometimes it'll take me to some other job hunting portal with a bunch of job listings from halfway across the state/country.

It feels like I'm clicking on some advertisement button or scam every time I try to actually apply for something. Not only that, but I'll then get calls and emails from mysterious companies for months afterward.

Perhaps I'm just terrible at navigating them. Would someone please help me out here? I just want to apply for local stuff online, heh.

Use Indeed. Never had issues like you said, unless the company doesn't allow you to apply directly through indeed and you have to go through their site, it will re-direct to the company website.

Just search your area (Within a distance) for listings. Specify type of job if you want.
