All I want is Gold 5. Can I please not have a teammate that throws hard every other game?

I know I sound like a scrub, however I'm once again at risk of being demoted to Silver 2 for the 4th time. Both my duo and I did very well and did our jobs, just we had two cowardly tanks on our team who never peeled for the team.

This happens every other game, and tends to happen much more whenever I hit Silver 1. It feels like a roll of the dice that never goes my way when it's starting to get good.

I'm saying this as a player who knows what he's doing in-game, who is never toxic, and is generally optimistic. It's often hard to stay optimistic when the game often seems like it's over straight from the lobby.

How do you resolve this?

god, i remember this. i got to G5 through the rare rare occurrence of 4 games in a row with zero throwers. I played consistent (which made me happy) good luck. i was on my way to s2 when i lucked out with a couple of good wins against odds. then i hit the big streak

you play a duo and tanks dont peel for your team ? but one of you has to be that tank unless you go full squisherino thenn its normal that you die

since you are in silver i think that i can give you one nice tip ... if your jugnelr ganks or you kill enemy botlane while he is close take an early dragon.. dragon is insane because it helps everyone so that feeder on top will have better chances coming on top while strugling midlane will get more ap faster and wreck his enemy, and well in teamfights your allies will be more usefull

actually i think you duos are toxic. when you duo you have inflated mmr so you should not be taking roles from other players. half my climb to gold was lost because of a duo who doesn't know what to do but think they do.

So just to be clear; if you are duo and can't climb out of silver. You two are the problem and causing all the games to be a lost. Maybe get a reality check first before posting on these forums.

I have a couple tidbits of advice:

  1. Don't duo queue. It raises your team's average MMR, so you'll be placed against harder opponents. I know there are people who duo queuing works for, but the only time I've ever had it work for me is when I'm duoing with someone who I literally just met in soloQ.
  2. Play more Lulu. Play her in all the lanes (top/mid/supp). You see to do well with her.
  3. Build situationally. I see that you build basically the same items every single game. But if the enemy has a lot of cc, Merc treads might be a better buy than mobis. Or if they're all squishy and your team has a lot of AD, sorc shoes may be better.
  • Especially if your adc looks like they may not be able to carry, build a little more AP. Lulu's ratios (damage and utility) are pretty good, but with your current build they're going to waste.
  1. Upgrade spellthief's edge to frostfang. What's not to love about more gold?
  2. Try to have a perfect KDA. Even if it means giving up a kill or two that you could have secured, not dying makes a huge difference in how weak your opponents are. Remember, if you die, it makes everyone else's job harder, even if you're comparatively fed.
  3. Teamwork starts in champ select. I open every game with

Good evening everyone. My prefs are mid/supp > top >jg/adc Anyone a good adc or jung?

I find this helps a HUGE amount towards everybody getting a role they're comfortable with, which goes a long way towards winning the game.

  • The first statement sets up a good mood
  • The second reminds everyone to state their prefs
  • The third helps make sure I don't get stuck with one of the two roles I suck at, and causes everyone to work better together. Often someone who was an early pick and called mid/top will switch to jg/adc because they're good at it and nobody else is.
