Where is Mastery 8, Could we go higher?

Most people I hear a pretty resounding yes that they would like the option for mastery 8. The framework for mastery is in place and can be calculated as getting four S+ on a champion. For players, it gets them bragging rights that they're really good (or willing to really grind and get lucky). For Riot it gives a straight forward avenue for spending lots of BE. Riot talked a lot about goals for players, well here is a free gimmie advanced goal that you know isn't really going to be met with much pushback.

If you won't show the highest you can go, what is the point on showing how low people are on mastery? To know it's going to be a fiesta for low mastery but I can be extra confident in his/her abilities with this champion if I know they're getting the highest of the high score many times.

I actually would be super interested if we could figure out how to take mastery further as this could be so much cooler. One approach I thought of that sounds neat is once you reach mastery 8, you display each players mastery points to their team at loading screen to see how much of a one trick God they are. If you make it only visible when mastery 8, you give people incentive (a goal) that they need to get to mastery 8 to show this off. Then players on more champs are willing to spend BE. I know for me, I want my top 3 displayed to be the highest mastery.

While on the topic, I think adding level to loading screen is cool because then you then get respect points for being super high level. I really liked getting to show this off to friends in lobbys now let me show it off to the world.
