Dota auto chess is popular as hell and this is actually a smart move from Riot. It'll be successful even if you don't want it to be.

Honestly I only play league of legends when I'm bored. Console games are way more entertaining. This new gimmick isn't worth my time. I think I have maybe 10 or more games I haven't even played yet that I want to spend my time on rather than do the same thing over and over again. Currently I'm playing FFX/X2 remastered and loving every moment of it.
Auto Chess has nothing to do w/ actual chess.
It is basically a tower defense game in the vein as Legion TD, except it substitutes skill for luck.
I'm not gonna buy them, but I will play the new gamemode.
