[Build Discussion] Why build heavy crit items on Senna vs. Healing items??

Hello everyone.

I’m not a support player, but I really love Senna and know her best role is support and I wanna try playing her a bit! Question though, I see a lot of ppl pushing one build the most and it has like no support items in it, and so I figured I’d come here and ask you guys - what gives?

I’m still learning about how stats and scaling works on champions, like I’m still pretty clueless on scaling, but I just assumed AD and Crit scaling wouldn’t be as important on her as a more support-like build would be!?!??

So, can you guys explain to me why ppl seem to be pushing build 1 - a heavy crit build with no heal or shield items, vs. build 2 - a support build I’ve only seen one mobafire guide really promote?

Thank you very much for any help! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Tbh most stat sites are saying a hybrid of the two is the highest win rate (not specializing in Lethality, but not specializing in utility either.

The full damage build doesn't actually build IE until 4th item, so the order is wrong. They start Duskblade, and then a second Lethality item, and then RFC, and then a IE. If you get to that point on SUPPORT, it's been a really long game and you've gotten a lot of takedowns/kills.

Anyone trying to say support items aren't offensive and used on an adc doesn't have a clue how Senna works.

Senna's kit revolves around being able to get CDR more than it does around attack speed. If you get 40% CDR and Auto >Q Auto, your success rate in combat and resetting Q is far greater.

And that's Senna in a nutshell: Getting Q useable as much as possible. And as an added bonus, item 3174 makes Q into a REALLY strong heal.

The only AS item that's really worth is runaan's, due to potentially 3x Q CDR on each AA, and RFC because extra range is always useful.

As far as the AD crit items, you have to remember: Yeah she does less crit damage, but she's still dealing around 80% of their damage per auto, and usually from a much larger range, and with an auto reset that also heals her. IE scales her AAs by another 10% while ER gives her CDR...unlike every other high AD item.

Lethality/armor pen are the only other ways to significantly scale her damage.

Support items aren't built on ADCs. She's got a much higher winrate as "bot" role than "support" role.

If you're support Senna, Doesn't matter what you build as long as its under 2700g per slot. Anything else doesn't go well with a support's budget, and is rather foolish, considering you're relying on a lead with anything else.

I just looked up Lethality and found out it's just Armor Pen...........is that something you should build if no one on the enemy team is building armor? Or if you can't really predict that, and build Lethality anyways, will it do anything if the enemy team doesn't have armor??
