I think I know why some players are complaining about the new preseason...

This is my prediction, so no hate please.

I think the majority of the players who are complaining about the runes/blue essences change is because they are the players that cannot afford the time to play a lot or are new players due to work, school, errands, etc.

Now that I think about it, the people who are complaining about not gaining enough BE is probably because they don't have enough time to play at least 10 games a day and feel like earning BE will be such a pain for them due to slow progress on leveling up, which results in getting less BE, whereas others who do have the time and are able to play for a long time find the change not so difficult towards them.

For the rune changes, I don't know, I feel like it's alright, it's just that some players are lazy to search up the runes for each champions they play. Some asked for more free rune pages, but this is kinda unnecessary since you can change rune in rune pages.

Not going to lie, but I was in the same position to the players who are complaining about the changes. I did asked why did Riot made these changes and even explained my thoughts on it yesterday. But after some thoughts and consideration, I feel like Riot did nothing wrong in the preseason changes, but for the players that don't play a lot/new, it kinda hurts them since they do want to play League but just cannot have the time to do it.

But again, Riot does have surprises, it's just been a day since the release. Maybe they will improve things that might be favorable to everyone. To those complaining, just give some time, this is a new system that we need some time to get used to and perhaps in the future things will get better.

People who play less than 10 games per day will actually end up earning BE faster than they earned IP because the FWOTD bonus is worth more now.

Hey everyone,

Welcome to the Player Behavior & Moderation board! I’d like to introduce the Arbiters, the newest branch of Riot Games’ Volunteer Program.

<image snipped for quote>

We’ve set up this group up to allow players we’ve identified as deeply knowledgeable about our behavior systems to reach out to their fellow players, providing information and helping address questions and concerns you guys bring to our attention.

Arbiters are volunteers, not Rioters, so there are some things they can't do (no pulling chat logs or lifting bans, sorry!), but they are ready and willing to help you find resources and become more familiar with Riot's player behavior policies. If you’ve been warned or banned through one of our PB&J systems (LeaverBuster, report frequency warnings, etc.) or just have a question, the Arbiters are here to work with you!

Idk i kinda think i'm important too but that may just be me thinking i'm important when i'm not.

If it wasn't clear, the quote above is real, my reaction is a meme :P

I am a player who has played since season 2. I quite frankly dont care about blue essence at all. i have all the champs i need and dont really care. However the runes? We had a system that made it so you could correct your early game weaknesses and make it so your life isn't hell until you get items. It seems now runes are designed for people who can't spend the time earning runes or the time looking up proper rune mastery pages. so at the cost of the better players/ older players they pander to new players who will spend more money. it seems that all of this is so new players dont just quit the game before they even make level 10. But i Always play with more attack speed in my runes for adcs, now i'm stuck at 80 attack speed on kog even though that goes counter to my strategy.
