So, since you guys don't want to remove the skins/gemstones that these people obtained with 1 BE, I have a resolution:

My solution basically requires you guys to make an announcement to the entire community LONG ENOUGH IN ADVANCE via Reddit, the boards, Facebook, Twitter, etc. that you'll be putting the capsules back up for sale for 1 BE for X amount of time on Y date (X amount of time being however long the mistake was on live servers initially).** I know for a fact that people would be more okay with this whole situation if they were made aware that they have the fair chance to exploit the same bug that others did as compensation.**

Would you lose out on a lot of money temporarily? Absolutely, but let's think of this way: you won't be losing out on your most dedicated players who spend the most on this game over time.

As a dedicated player who has spent more money on this game than I care to admit, I feel betrayed.** I feel like the collection I've earned over time with hard work has been rendered worthless due to this whole situation.** I've stuck around through the thick and thin with you guys, Riot. I stayed around when questionable company drama arose. I stuck around in metas that were complete and utter dogshit (and that only got worse as time went on), and playing my champions was considered trolling, which caused me to undergo lots of flaming. I stuck around when new money draining schemes were introduced. But this? This is the last straw. Anyone that knows me knows I don't really ever complain about anything, and I just suck it up and move forward. But I'm so upset about this that I literally made a Reddit account just to try to come up with a resolution, because I don't think you guys realize just what kind of message you're sending to your community here. "Wellp, we made a mistake, but we're going to let those that have obtained these skins/gemstones unfairly keep them. Additionally, we're going to slap those that have spent tons of hard-earned money on our game in the face, because we don't actually value the products we put out nor the people who buy them."

I WANT TO STICK AROUND, RIOT. I want that more than anything, but you're leaving me no choice here. Either we all resolve this fairly, or I can say for certain that your most dedicated playerbase who's spent plenty of money on this game will take their money to a company who actually values it. I am among these people.

Let's talk about this fairly. Let's come up with a resolution.

The amount of players who feel betrayed enough to actually leave the game for good after what happened will probably never spend enough to even out what you suggested.

People are upset now and possibly won’t spend (anymore) money on the capsules and/or leave for a short amount of time. In the end most of those upset players will calm down, return and forget about the whole ordeal though.

As somebody who also missed out on the bug I would feel satisfied enough if Riot compensated us with 1 free capsule.

It’s not like they did it on purpose so feeling betrayed really is the wrong emotion here. Is it unfair? Kinda, but the majority of players who weren’t lucky enough to exploit the bug also wouldn’t cry for the skins etc. to be removed if they were the ones who were able to buy capsules for 1BE each.

Probably gonna get downvoted,

But league probably isn't going to lose hardly any players over this. People just want to be outraged to be outraged, it will be over in a week. riot would lose WAY to much money over this, and no company with a brain would ever do this.

At this point people are just wanting free stuff.

I don't agree with you, OP. A bug is something that shouldn't have happened and for the few lucky people that managed to be at the right place and at the right time, they've taken advantage of it. Riot removed their Prestige Points but let them keep the capsules since, in my opinion, there wasn't a huge number of players who took advantage of this and Riot acted swiftly to fix it.

I'm a League player who's been there from the very start (9+ years) and i didn't see this bug. So should i feel cheated because a bug happened and i didn't walk out of the store, spending around 100 BE for a crapton of capsules? Of course not. It was an oversight on their part for sure. But just because a very small part of the playerbase took advantage of this, does not give us the right to ask for the same compensation. Nor is Riot obligated to let everyone have a piece of the pie, a pie we were not meant to eat anyway.

I would he happier if they basically gave us all a Blood Moon capsule as compensation (the bare minimum) as one free capsule isn't going to set them back at all, in terms of sales. But how they choose to address this is ultimately up to them. Hell, even if they gave away a single capsule, there would be people who'd still cry for more than one if they knew just how much a truly tiny part of the playerbase got out from this "deal".

RIOT fucked up, Riot is the only one who's actually lost anything in this. Ya think they enjoy losing that much money? ofc they don't.

And then your pathetic ass comes in here like "i didn't see bug papa rito, gibe free stuff pls" cuz you're mad some other guys got stuff in a totally fair way. It's in no way unfair like you're trying to make it out to be. They bought something for 1 BE, like it was priced by riot. You didn't look, if you had you woulda abused the bug too.

They didn't take ANYTHING from you, like i said, Riot are the only ones who lost anything. You lost nothing.

that's not how bugs work. Who the fuck is like "today i'mma make my online store bug out so we lose a ton of money".

Unfortunately, Riot's response is standard practice in most online games.

If the company makes a bug that can get exploited like this, they generally don't ban the players that abused it and they generally let them keep the content.

I don't know why. Especially if Riot is capable of removing the content these players purchased. Give them either one free capsule or X amount of RP as "compensation" if you're worried about the people that bought them for 1BE feeling cheated somehow.

I say leave it be. Shit happens. People have gotten products cheaper than they should have before due to improper pricing via bugs of mistakes. Like when New Xbox 1 controllers got priced for like $5 instead of $50 on the Microsoft store.

Nobody is getting any capsules for free. Bug was there and people used it. Riot is not planning to do anything about it as they said. End of story lol
